Canon HV10, its compact, sub 1000 dollars, is HD, shoots very good video for such a small camera, has lots of manual features.

Ummm i dont have to skip classes. I ski MWF from 11 AM till close and TTh from open till 3 PM. And all weekend of course. Its pretty easy to go to school full time at Montana State and still ski 7 days per week.
