Foreign exchanges, skiing, and full grown silverback gorillas.

www.raiders.ch is the newschoolers community, more or less, for switzerland. From Lucerne you got Engelberg, Melchsee-Frutt and Meiringen-Hasliberg as the local mountains. Engelberg's got the sick big mountain terrain, and Meiringen-Hasliberg has decent park most of the time. A lot of people...

    Good parks/bc in austria???

The best Austrian parks are in Mayrhofen and in Kaprun (Kitzsteinhorn). If you hop over the border and hit Laax you got the top 3 parks in Europe right there. As for BC, St. Anton im Arlberg is a must. Ischgl is also pretty sweet, huge mountains, lots of pow, no waiting in line. There's resorts...

    Why is it..

Why is it that places that are no-good for skiing like Luxemburg, Wales, Denmark, etc.. all have separate forums and then Alpine countries are joined together randomly like Switzerland/Germany, Austria/Italy, France/Spain. This doesn't make any sense at all. Wouldn't it make more sense to make...

    Late June-July skiing...Where

In the middle of June I'm gonna drive to Italy with some friends, there's some unknown glacier right across the Swiss border which is open in June and July and has a sick park.. then we drive on to Venice, maybe go to the beach somewhere... before we head a few hours north to Austria where there...

    Switzerland

The thing is Davos/Klosters consists of 6 or 7 small lift operations, some lifts are even owned by hotels, and all of them are kind of struggling to get by. In most resorts hotels, appartment owners, restaurants, stores.... they all pay taxes which contribute to the company that runs the...

Very very true. And it's the same for all resorts in this region... Maybe we shouldn't advertise these resorts too much. Go to Verbier!!!!

    Switzerland

Not a fan of Davos. Best freeriding in Switzerland? I'm gonna say that Andermatt, Engelberg, Zinal, Mürren are all easily better. Davos is particularly annoying to get around different places because the lift system and connections are retarded. Their parks are really really sad. Pischa is...

    Obnoxious ski outfits

you're arguing besides the point. allow me to rephrase: why not wear what you think looks good and stylish, rather than wear what you think is obnoxious. you don't have to dress like a clown to stand out.

    Obnoxious ski outfits

I was going to post a thread on why so many skiers try to dress as obnoxious as possible. What ever happened to dressing stylish? or is having style reserved for surfers / snowboarders etc...

    Switzerland

^^ need to add that when the park on glacier 3000 is open it's sick and I love going there. And Saas-Fee has the nicest kickers in summer.

    Switzerland

Depends what time of the year and what kind of skiing you want to be doing... ? Other than that there's already some bullshit being posted in this thread. Glacier 3000 has a park 3 months out of a year, so hardly year-round. Zermatt does have an amazing park in the summer and has many strong...

    Summer skiing in Europe?

If you want to ski trails you should avoid Les 2 Alpes, it's super icy and not fun to ski outside the park. Tignes has 1 long, fairly steep but slushy run. Probably the best trail u can get in summer if you don't mind the slush. Zermatt has the best snow by far, and has several very long runs...
