Tanner was and still is insane at skiing and will always be a legend. But to be honest, he is no longer the most exciting or unique skier to watch. What i saw in 'the Education of Style' is someone that is now trying to be the new kid on the block and the next big thing, like Henrik and Phil. However, Tanner has been that kid already when he was 16 or there about. In my opinion, i thought he looked like that embarrassing dad that that tries to be cool with your friends. He may do the ocasional respectable, 'cool', thing but most of the time its pretty embarrassing.
SO (sorry to divulge into my own opinion so much!) , I believe that the reason that Red Bull dropped him is that he is no longer exciting and breaking barriers of his preferred sport of skiing. Sure, he now may now be forward thinking in music and media with 'Inspired M. C.' but Red Bull didn't sponsor him because he was a future business mogul. They supported him as a visionary in the ski world.
To conclude, I think that Red Bull waited for The Education Of Style to come out to see if Tanner was really back in the game after suffering from such horrendous injuries. I would concur with Red Bull on the decision to drop him as a skier BUT I am not saying that Tanner is now washed up and he is dead in the ski world! I still believe what he and Iberg are doing with 'Inspired' is one of the greatest things that has happened to freeskiing.
I would love to hear what y'all other NS'ers have to say!
tanner is an icon now and forever...you cant remain in the top spot for long in our sport. injuries, up and comers and progression make it impossible. sadly i think that tanners last round of injuries has probably started the beginning of the end of his dominance as the worlds best all around skier. with that said, it DOES NOT diminish his past and future accomplishments. big ups bred'ren!
@mcsteezeburger, get a fucking life. You don't have a single clue about what you're talking about. The only embarrassing thing about this is that kids like you are oh so good at making skiers look like the preteen fans of twilight or 16 and pregnant.
@JenniferGarner - You pose no argument in your statement, therefore I cannot respond to your brainless jibber-jabber. And please do not try and condescend me by calling me a 'Kid'. I may be younger than you but it looks like i have far more brain cells.
@mcsteezeburger, talking out of your ass about people who you will never know or situations that you will never hear about doesn't mean you have an argument... and yes you are a kid, a kid that loves drama and loves spending your time thinking about what the "pros" are doing or why they do certain things. you're no different than the pathetic little girls that insta-period when they see Justin Beiber. you represent the most pathetic individuals that the "pros" hope they'll to never run into other than signing your 100 buck jiberish sweater. go jack off to TMZ, get it out of your system and get a life. skiing is about skiing, not being obsessed with what other skiers that you don't know do with their time.
JenniferGarner - 1. I don't even know why you are arguing at me as i gave no hate to Tanner in what i said at first. I respect him more than just about everyone in the skiing world for what he has done and i do not come across as disrespectful.
2. I do not claim to know him, or any other pro for that matter, on any major level. So i dont understand why you feel the need to constantly insult me and use your poor arguing skills to throw every Ad Hominem (look it up) you can at me, to try and put me down for something i have not said.
3. And about my $100 Jiberish sweater? No it isn't signed actually. Who in skiing isn't well-off to some degree. How did you get your outerwear? Slinging crack rocks on the corner with your ghetto homies? Thought so.
@mcsteezeburger, I'm not arguing with you, I'm informing you that you and kids like you are a cancer to freeskiing. That's nothing you can argue with, that's scientific fact. Get a life.
