RIP to a true pionner of the ski industry. You changed the way of skiing, you're mission is done. I hope you'll be skiing a lot of powder in heaven. True legend never die, best wishes to the family.
My best friend told me on the phone, i thought he was kidding. It's weird to feel so sad about someone you've never met. I'm 24 and been knowin McConkey in videos since i was just a kid, much like most of us on Newschoolers. At 24 i'm always the oldest or close to the oldest guy tossin hard and not 'takin it easy', sometimes i think it's close to over for me. My body is worn, i need a spine fusion in my lower back and have numerous ligament tears. A select one in every couple million guys over 30 inspire me and give me hope and drive for an exciting decade in my 30's. Thanks man. I'm never stoppin. The world needs more guys like you.
This thing is bittersweet. I think the majority of people with sports like this at their hearts feel that other than passing on after a long loved and successful life, that we'd all take a solid second choice of dying doing what we love. Live hard, live free, no regrets. RIP.
you have inspired us all... thanks for the way you taught us to have fun and not to be serious all the time. my heart goes out to your family and friends, but i know you are off shreddin somewhere and with a smile on your powder filled face!!! there will never be anyone in this industry like you... RIP
