I love skiing because when you ski, your keep it trill, and chillen with friends and gettin silly on a mountainside, yup thats why i love skiing, and powder.
Skiing evokes all sorts of emotions: From the joy of floating on powder, to the sadness from a loss or injury of a friend. From feeling a sense of accomplishment for landing that one trick, to fearing for your life when you get stuck in a tree well in the backcountry.
But no matter what you are feeling you always want to go skiing and you want to do it as much as and as best as you can. You ski during the good times as well as the bad times. You ski on whatever deal you can get when you are strapped for cash, and you ski on your dream setup when you save your hard earned wages for months.
Skiing is always on your mind no matter the season. During the summer months you miss it and look forward to the next time you can ski again. When winter arrives, it is like meeting a dear friend you haven't seen in a long time.
The sport of skiing is very loyal to you; it will never let you down. Whether you wake up in a good mood or if you have many stresses on your mind, skiing is there for you.
You feel so good when see someone else having a great time skiing and you know they feel exactly the way you do.
You want to ski as long as you possibly can even when you're old and gray.
Now ask anybody who has found his or her soul mate and are lucky enough to spend the rest of their lives with them. They will describe all those feelings written above. Ask them what they are describing and they will tell you that it is love.
Its just the feeling you get when you get that perfect slide, or the perfect 5, or when you hit that sweet spot, or ripping down the hill, the pop from one turn to another, or the weightlessness of a foot of powder. No matter how shitty your day was, you can forget EVERYTHING and just ski.
haha my gf just texted me and wants me to come over...and i didnt even notice the vibration untill i was done writing this, that is what i all true love
Skiing means so much to me. It is my escape from all the shit that we have to put up with at school and in life. I've always loved skiing but my passion for it has really blossomed in the past two to three years. My friends haven't relly helped there... They have introduced me to newschoolers which I spend way too much time on. Skiing is my biggest passion. In summer I can spend a day relaxing at the beach with all my mates but that night I will be on NS checking out who has won the latest comp or who's bitching about who, I just love it. It is my escape from these long hot summer days.
The feeling when you stomp that new trick, or your just goofing around on the side of the trail, slicing through untracked pow or skiing on sheet ice. It's all smiles and happy times. Some people just don't understand it, I always get questioned at school why I'm watching ski/snowboard vids on youtube or why I'm on NS. I just look at them and say, it's the one thing I truly love.
Quit bitching about whatever it is, go suit up and ski, forget about everything else. If you can't go skiing because you injured or you are stuck in the middle of summer just reminisce about all the days you have spent up on the hill, all those smiles and happy times. Just remind yourself of why you ski.
When I see some one skiing or hear some one mention it I think of it as "An ESCAPE from an overly cluttered world; an EXAMPLE of innovation at work; an INSPIRATION to ski better this year than last; an ANSWER to anyone who ever doubted that skiing and all it stands for can still provide one of the most exhilarating days on the planet; a REASON to quit your job, sell your matching bedroom set, and move to the mountains once and for all; a MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH to anyone needing some twin tips and a fresh learning curve to revitalize their love of the sport; a FEW FRAMES OF A-ROLL FOOTAGE for an up-and-coming filmmaker with a camera and a head full of fresh ideas; EVIDENCE that not every kid in the country is sitting around Super-Sizing himself on drive-through fries and Xbox; an EDUCATION for every person on a passing chairlift watching the sport evolve befor their eyes; an EXPRESSION of freedom like this insignificant string of words could never hope to capture. Get ready, the time is near" -Tom Bie
I love the feeling of snow so deep, you can't do much else than choke on it, stomping a clean landing or cruising groomers, I have had some of the best feelings on skis, it's arguably the best thing that ever happenned to me, especially coming from the midwest. Skiing taught me to escape and be an individual. skiing is love skiing is life.........
i love the community of skiing, on and offline..... the epic days with friends or even family members.... dealing with periods of rain for more than 4 days and then waking to some soft fresh snow
without the bad days in skiing, we might forget how lucky we truly are
skiing is one of those things that you find yourself thinking about without even realizing it. Its that giddy feeling when you wake up and head to the hill with friends, jamming out to tunes in the car and being ridiculous. Its like a vacation from everyday life, from work, from your age, from problems. Its just fun, its the same reason why you played with a bouncy ball at age 5. Its fascinating, exhilarating, and fun!
