wow. i can't believe this. i hope his family, especially his daughter, comes through this with their heads held high, proud of what he has done for the sport he loves. my thoughts go out to them.
Shane you were the guy who tought me how to ski through your movie footage of making it look like the funnest thing in the world. I'd be nowhere without that inspiration. Float on.

Shane is the one skier that I always looked up to. He seemed like to the coolest guy and had the greatest drive to enjoy life. Love this guy!!! Much sympathy to wife and kid
i still can't believe this happened. this is one skier that i always looked up to and always will. someone that brought innovation and a crazy, fun attitude to skiing whether it was with saucerboy or answering letters in freeze.

Shane is the reason I quit racing to do my own thing on the hill. He showed everyone how fun this sport really is. "Something About McConkey" should be a household item. RIP Shane and all the best to his Wife and little daughter.
