I still dont feel that freeskiing should be in the olympics. It goes against why it was started in the first place. so no go on the helping on this one.
aha i skied this mountain all year. the pipe is real big and scary, but probably fun if u r good at it. the pow is sick the park was aight, but i have to stay some of the ppl in charge were reeeal douchebags. if they would ve listened to us the park could ve been way more legit
To that guy who said a straight air would be sick, I think on skis, a steezy 5, or tanner's flat 3 are a perfect way to put style into a run. I don't think straight airing is the answer, and it's not that steezy, it's just boring unless you urlacher it.
Decent article, but WOW, the author sure likes to preach his personal politics, and post close up pictures of himself. A little bit of an insecurity or something? Or just in love with himself?
I also agree with Tride's comments -- author seemed to be speculating about the current state of judging. He shouldn't go out on a limb when he doesn't have the experience to back it up.
I actually would really appreciate thoughts about some of the first newschoolskiers about the olympics.
Some guys that are not that much effected by the money and fame values of the sport anymore.
These guys were the innovators of newschoolskiing and I think we should respect their opinions as well. I want some honest down to earth interviews from three phils and J.F Cusson for example.
first off. in respons to Sanchez. i think that the judging in the olympics is old style judging. they need people like Mike Douglas, and other people that know the sport better then anyone else, to judge the event.
The only reason that the Olympic dudes don't want to have skiing pipe in the Olympics is because they don't want it to end up like the Xgames. which is understandable. But if the Olympic people still do not let skiing in as is very well should be, to the Olympics, the amount of people that will hate them will sky rocket. it is not fare for people who ski all the time, and as a living, and that go bigger and much better then the boarders to not have a chance to show there stuff.
Skiing in the half pipe would be sick cause it would prolly support mountain sports as a whole. I mean if thier is more skiers/boarders/bikers/speedriders .ect
their will be more rich guys out their building more resorts. Canada has the potential to have the best skiing in the world. But it will never happen if people stop skiing. and to keep young kids coming into the sport and keep aggressive parents pushing their kids into the sports, we need to have legit events that are covered by organizations that play more of a role in the general populations lives.
I mean if pipe skiing is in the 2010 games. mabey places like Revelstoke and JUMBO GLACURE will become small projects in the world or canadian skiing.... ONE DAY WE WILL BE ABLE TO SKI FROM VANCOUVER TO Calgary and if skiing is in the 2010 games mabey we will still be able to ski when it happens.
right now these little resorts that we have are ok . but the true potential on canadian skiing is out their and if skiing in the 2010 games will promote mountain sports all the power to it
