HES NOT A SELLOUT, kids from beaverton oregon, coincidence he signed with a local company, REGARDLESS OF HOW BIG because he knows he can work closely with everyone at nike. i doubt many on a site like this agree with me on this but salomon > line. i know everyone loves the smaller more rider influenced companies. but sammy just said it, he gives his input and gets to help out salomon just like other ski brands and their riders, shit, bibby and moment (read it again) i bet moment would like to have as much cash to play research and development with as salomon. thats what companies pay their riders for, they know no ones gonna fuck up their shit more than someone like sammy carlson and they let him do it to benefit the company and the valuable feedback THEY PUT BACK INTO THEIR SKIS THAT WE ALL RIDE pow day or park day. its the same for all these companies. salomon just has a bigger bank roll, more R and D, more everything, more support for sammy to go travel film and more reasons thereby for you all to enjoy his skiing as much as he does. some probably disagree but salomon, although their image is becoming more and more like oakleys, burton, etc in the sense that it's getting played, overpriced and stereotyped. besides, why hate on a kid thats just trying to do something extraordinary in life, unless envy is the root of your argument. lol. they're just companies trying to tap into a market, who are you or i to say their intentions are one way or another. companies follow what WE, ALL OF the skiers do, go pro and tell them how pissed you are about the ski industry or somethin. lastly, you really think nike wants to do something to fuck up their stock prices, LOL. if anything i'll be stoked with custom limited edition nike FS boots. 900++++ dollars lol. if you dont like nike dont buy their shit when it comes out, thats all you can do. the nike hate on the internet is nothin. sorry so long.

yo xpingxpongx just because nike doesn't make anything for the sport now doesn't mean they won't start. they make a lot of wicked products that sammy and the team can wear anyways, i mean, look at oakley. they don't make skis or bindings or boots but they're still a huge name in skiing, and all they need to do it are some nice goggles and outerwear. you need to stop hatin on nike and on sammy for joining them. something big could happen here and all you're doing is comparing skiing to skateboarding. skateboarding now is about what you wear and how you look and the brand of shoes you have. skiing is about skiing, don't even bring skiing down to that level. and i think that it was good of sammy to stick with salomon because that's what good athletes do. if salomon has helped sammy get to where he is now, they should be allowed to help him further, without people on sites hating on them.

i think that even though we get haters on ski sites, the sites are a good thing. people can interact with each other and see what's going on in the sport. sammy is a good guy and a great skier, and it sickens me to see jealous people talking shit about him. if you think nike or salomon or anything else is shit and that sammy shouldn't be on their team, then you're just not looking at it from sammy's angle. he's a pro, and all these haters aren't. people like them just don't understand. like i said earlier, skiing ain't about the brands. don't act like it is. and to all the people who DO understand, don't let haters like xpingxpongx bring down NS with their whining.
