We skinned in. However, as of yesterday afternoon, there was like a foot of snow on the road, and you could only drive about 3-4 miles up. There was like 18" in the parking lot of new, dry snow-- this meant bonafide face shots in june.

Yeah, it was raining at the car, so you had so suffer through the wet until you got up near the ridge, where the precip turned to snow. The snow on the backside was heavy, but still fast and creamy( we skied north of the radio tower), but the frontside back down to the car was pretty wet and...

As of yesterday, you can drive up to the big switchback (~ 1mi. from the trailhead). There was about a foot of new, wet snow up on radio ridge, that was sliding on some aspects as a wet slide. There is still lots of snow (looks like April or May snowpack).

I heard that you could drive 3-4 mi up, about half way.

I imagine that this is just a rumor, but I heard talk that chair 3 might open on weekends for the park.

Yeah, 'it's still Big Mtn to me' for sure. I was just taking a poke at the WFMR folks that opened 2 weeks late, closed a week early, and don't stay open til 4:30anymore, and thought they might be more uptight about somebody hiking a closed park.

Does anybody hike the park after hours? I'm guessing that this is not encouraged by WFMR, but is anybody official close enough to the park to notice / put the kibosh on this type of activity?

Is that the Floral Park Traverse? I've heard a couple of people mention that. Sounds like a sweet trip.

What's the scene usually like up at the pass? Are people building very much or mostly hiking up and getting tracks?
