make sure to turn steadyshot OFF with your fisheye, the vig will move around and look gross if you dont

depends on how much you want to spend... you will need a step up ring and then probably like a mx3000 or a mk1 screw-on... not sure how strong it will hold though, the mk1 is a heavy lens

if you are just learning get vegas... its a good program and easier to learn on, compared to premier or fcp

i dont know of any mini dv(most dont possibly a few) or hi 8 cameras that have usb... DIGITAL 8 has usb and firewire but other than that you will need an analog or firewire card

what kind of tapes does the camera use... hoping that it is minidv because it is as simple as plugging it in via firewire and captureing... but you need a firewire card in your comp... BUT again i ask, what kind of camera?

gl's audio sucks compared the the vx's (for skateing) but if your primarily use is going to be skiing then it will be a legit camera for you

if you wanna go legal i think avid makes something called avid free dv... which you can legally download

def. dont even start with film until you are filming for a flick you expect to make money with... for the 16 too look good you have to know what you are doing or it will end up like hi-8 transfered to 35mm
