Tech Talk - Episode 24 - Edge Stamping Patterns
i got some dynastar serial troubles and after one season therye completely ruined... what skis should I get now?

Armadas have the best edges fo sho, I've hammered my T-Halls on all sorts of rails and shitty dryslopes and a couple weeks shredding the mountain and there isnt a single crack in the edge. A friend had Volkl walls the same week and theyre already suffering from edge cracks

Im pretty certain that the device behind him is a series of clamps used to glue edges to the base prior to pressing. and I totally agree, the flat, non stamped edge has nothing except an epoxy bond to hold it into the ski. good call for vertical impact integrity, bad call for pull out strength. Give me a year or two guys, and Ill give you skis where edge pull outs CANNOT happen. ive got shit up my sleeves thats going to blow your minds.

This was a really good episode.<br>
I've never heard of the solid rail kind of edge.

or just buy skis from a company that warrantees edges or has super good quality edge. ninthward or atomic. And I have also never seen a solid edge either. I think its just a hoax.

yo the t does help keep the edge in the ski. but if a ski has an edge like the park pattern one, when your edge cracks its harder for it to come out. the reason for that is because when you crack the t one, a whole t usually will crack off, them warp and pop outta your edge. your edges aren't popping out because of the solid edge, but because of a bad adhesion where the edge is. edge cracking is a problem with almost any ski as long as you ski rails hard.

That may be the shittiest edge design ever. Maybe if they were solid and then the t design after it, but I will never buy a pair of 4frnt's now because of that. I know volkl has a pretty cool pattern on some of their skis. The actual pattern is "Volkl" and you can see it through the base. Pretty sick.

Why the fuck don't they make park edges out of something..gee i don't know, stronger than the metal that you're grinding? Like hasn't anyone tried something along those lines? I really think that is what the industry should be looking into.
