whos the jibber

to respond to the last post....

it is good the guides were making sure everything stayed safe. Even good to have members of the group that know what is up.

even with those guys reminding you of how to stay safe and where to stop....

wouldn't it make you more comfortable knowing that if one of the guides was buried you would have the knowledge and tools to dig him out? you said you were uneasy skiing with them.

honestly...i would have been terrified. If route finding is done correctly than avoiding avies is possible. But shit still happens and people still die.

Glad everyone came out safe and that you had a great time.

Educate yourself and the whole realm of the BC will be so much more amazing. Being able to access the BC and travel comfortably is an amazing feeling. Seriously connects you to your environment.

and it gets better everytime you go out.

I said it above, but ill say it again. Stay safe and enjoy the BC. There isn't anywhere better than having the mountains all to yourself.

i felt very oppressed the entire conversation.

the catch with the bc heliski catski etc operations is that the appeal to them is that there is nothing within 50 miles at least.

the beacons we used were crazy affective. very nice tools in the backcountry, hopefully no one there ever needs to use them in a real situation.

you definitely came off as a dick because you were basically attacking every small thing that is obvious in the picture. but its good to know that you were just doing it out of care for the people in the picture including me :)

as for the title of the picture, it came to me after the trip because for the duration of the trip i was the only skier who A) had twin tip skis b) skied park (in WA, whistler, etc) c) my outerwear. d) always popping 3s off natural lips in the pow after having the landing spotted.

its hard being the only park skier in a group of old folks, guides, family members etc.

im a pretty mellow person and i just like to enjoy myself where ever i go regardless of someone treading on me over a photo once i get back. so i didnt take the offensive. i just tried to learn from whatever you told me in the speeel.

Fuckin SNAP! i called the other picture a "thread" because of its content. this one owns it.

haha yeah. i was pretty overbearing. as I said...saftey is the most important factor in the BC and I always try to emphasize that, whether or not I am precived as a dick along the way.

and I was being a dick. SOmetimes it is just the way things turn out.

I see the appeal to those operations, but there is something to be said for earning your turns.

the barryvox are super nice. very impressed with them.

it is funny that the most expensive component of BC travel, money wise, you hope you never have to use. most valuable thing is always your brain. travel smartly and the beacon will be nothing than a $300 piece of plastic to make you look cool. fine by me.

The point of everything I said was to pretty much attack everything that is wrong with that situation, which IMO is a fair amount. But it wasn't to attack you personally, so I hope that is apparent. Like I said, i dont want people to die.

yeah, the picture is pretty funny. the group you were with seems pretty funny. it was obvious who the jibber was.

Glad your not getting yourself all pissed and bitchy over this. Like I said, the attack was not at you but at a much larger group. This time you just happen to ensite it.

Aand if you look back, this isn't the first time I've pretty much bitched someone out over this topic.

I usually don't really dig into people unless they attack me, or on the topic of BC travel. Otherwise I try to be pretty chill.

So, sorry about being a douche for the whole thing.

Hopefully you did learn something, cause that would be the best thing to come of this, and you'll be able to continue to enjoy the BC.

No Shit?!

that is hilarious. see anyone with fucking huge ski with a wood only topsheet? that was me.

do you ski Xtal a lot?

i try to. ive been like 3 or 4 times this season. i got there really early. i was there 2 days back to back the day that chair openned, that day and the day before. i believe that was a sunday, so i was there saturday too with my cousins, and then next week after that saturday and sunday again now that i think on it. that day there was a nice huck right below the chair on lookers right that was about 10 - 15 that me and my bud were huckin off. skiin with byrce phillips is fuun man.

where do you live?

Xtal is super fun. That day was nuts. waist deep for the first 3 or 4 times up 6.

I've only got to ski 4 times this season, all at crystal, cause of school and its attempt to kill me.

each time has been super sick though. Never failed to at least ski something knee or more deep.

It sucked, I actually should have had 1st chair that day.

I was really hung over and went to get in line and lay down to feel better before the skiing got good.

took my skis off and actually feel asleep.

3 guys actually pushed my skis back and took the spots in front of me. Were bitches about it, too.

fuck some of the Xtal "locals" just fucking faggots. it was BS.

3rd chair aint that bad, though.

BP is fucking dope. I actually was looking thru some magazines today and wondering why he doesn't get more exposure. in each mag he had multiple shots that were fucking nuts.

hes such a sick skier. WA guys dont get enough credit.

ya man. him and andy mahre are untouched really. bryce has hice new shop where i got my made'ns at down in fremont www.evoseattle.com

you may have seen me actually waiting before they opened. i was rockin some fujitives that day because i didnt know what i was gettting into. took them off and layed down by the snow bank. i think that day i was wearing a blue and gray oakley jacket. yuuup.
