I'm going on a trip which involves lots of driving soon, my ipod broke then i lost it. Are Zunes hype and why? I'm looking at the 4 and 8g versions cause i don't really dig this gens ipod nano's. Thanks.

they be sick, especially if u have a friend with one so u can share wirelessly. id say go for a big one before the lil ones

Just preference or do you have a reason?

^And i dont think i need that much music. if i did i'd probably just get an ipod classic in black but thats a whole different ball game.

you guys were fast, gj. must be NS primetime or something

the ipod touch is nice but the other ipods i think are way too overrated. The zune does much more but people end up getting an ipod because everyone else has one.

i like the navigation on zunes way more. and the 80's have huge screens. id get the 80 personally

I prefer the zune. If people could let go of some of some of the hype surrounding ipods/apple products, they'd like this a lot. If you dont care about watching video from the device, 4/8gb model will be fine.

Things that youll need to get use to with Zune - the different interface to load music (probably the only thing I prefer from the IPod). And if you used an ipod for a long time, this doesnt have the same circle motion pad. But even monkeys can learn simple tasks. You're smarter than a monkey, right? Hahaha... of course you are.

i love the zune get the big ones if you like vids but its sweet you can share with you friends if they have one, and other stuff i can't list them all. get one

I have had both, and I prefer Zune sound quality, but I like the ease of the iPod. I would only recommend the Zune if you listen to music on your own for the sake of listening to music. If you're going on a trip, the ipod is easier to set up and has a longer battery life.

I had an old school zune 30 and it got stolen, so i bought the new zune 80. I've had the 80 for a little over 6 mo. and i really like it. The navigation and user interface are better then i pod IMO, the screen is sick, and the new updated software is actually really good as well. The only aspect of the zune that could use improvement is the battery life, but overall i still love mine and would certainly recommend the zune to anybody

zune have better sound quality, a better navigation system, and more options such as custom backgrounds and radio, while also being able to have podcasts and (with a bit of help) games

go for the zune 80 if you can and the 30 really isnt that bad since it is actually quite light and extremely durable

zunes are awesome. im on my 5th one.

just make sure to get warrantied.

they are awesome about that too. they just replace them for me.

i am positive that i read a thread over at zuneboards.com saying that cnet tv has listed the zune as the #1 mp3 player... but would that even include ipod? which is an mp4 player i think?

I have both a Zune 80 2nd gen and an ipod nano 8gb 2nd gen. the zune dominates, i definately reccomend it. its like the same price as the ipod, and you can usually return it if you dont like it after 30 days, so why not?

the Zune is cool and all, but you'll get the best sound quality with a Creative product. i reccomend either the ZEN Stone Plus or the ZEN V Plus.

ive got the 80gb zune and i love it

it takes a lil getting used to but id definitely recommend a zune. They hold up very well and are great for skiers. iPods you gotta take your glove off to do most of the stuff for the touch wheel. Zunes you can do everything using the buttons and dont have to take your glove off.

my opinion: Zune > iPod

youre either really unlucky or treat your zune like shit

dont read that like they die all the time, ive never had one die for no reason... i will be going onto my third pretty soon but my first one died from getting thrown with my backpack down a flight of stairs, and it worked until the battery died. the second one died when i forgot it was in my pocket when i waded into a pond after my dog... ordering an 80 gig tonight probably

I've had both Ipods and a Zune. I've had my Zune for a little over a year and in the time I've had it, I had gone through 3 Ipods that died for no particular reason at all. The interface of the Zune is much more intuitive than the Ipod as well. Probably my favorite feature is the ability to see what song is coming next. Even on shuffle mode, you can see the playlist of upcoming songs.

Unfortunately my Zune died last week and I can't figure out how to fix it. Does anybody know if Zune has a customer service hotline? I can't find it on the zune website.

the zune is really nice. i would def. go with something larger inless you dont want to hold many songs because mine doesnt hold barly any of my songs (i have the 4gig) its a really nice player tho the only complaint i have is that while skiing the touch pad s cold and doesnt work very well because it reacts to heat. over all zunes are really nice tho.
