nvidia tegra

and as always in zune's a customizable background

plus much more

16gb is black, 32 is silver

currently, zune is updating the site for the new shit but: http://www.zune.net

supposed to be out in the early hours of sept 15th

Nothing has a chance against the touch, its just the way it is. even sandisks ceo admitted you cant beat the ipod. soooooooo many apps for it

There's an app for that.
When they come out with a touch or HD with 120gb, i'll go for it. I like the Zune aesthetic and interface much better, though.

Think XBox.

That being said I don't think the Zune HD will create a huge dent in Apple's side. The biggest reason being that most people have purchased music on iTunes when all the songs had DRM.

fyi, zune software is much better than itunes.

I might get it if reviews are really good. I have an ipod touch which is cool, but theres a lot of stuff it's lacking because apple thinks every user is a mentally handicapped child. The apps are alright, certainly without wifi a lot of them are useless and gimmicks.

If microsoft comes out with some really good free apps (which is their plan) and then creates a third party sdk they will be in buisness.

Zune software > itunes

OLED screen is sexy

HDMI 720p is really nice

HD radio is a handy

Nvidia Tegra > whatever ipod has

The fact that it has a Tegra chip is the best of all. This thing has the power to run original xbox games. Huge potential if microsoft can get a good list of 3rd party developers. I would love to see some kinda controller attachment that clips to the zune hd and have buttons and analog sticks. There's only so much you can do with a touchscreen and accelerometer and with a decent controller it could be the best portable gaming device out there.

the OLED screen and the nvidia chip also helps the battery life.

zune hd has 3 hours longer battery when playing music, and 1 hour greater when playing videos

microsoft is paying big money to app creators to recreate apple apps for zune, so i think that the zune apps will be comparable to the ipod apps. i doubt zune will take even half of apples fanboys, but i think it will make a much bigger dent than it has so far.

and yes, the zune hd should have been created last year so that it could be at the same level as the 3rd gen itouch with 64gb

Word.

Not to mention that getting developers on board will be tough when they can be guaranteed an audience in the Apple App Store.

I mean, if I was a software dev, I would make iTouch apps my top priority, then maybe Zune apps if I get around to it.

well if microsoft was paying me more to create the same app that i have made for apple, i would do the microsoft one. which seems to be whats happening. microsoft is going after the app creators that are already doing big things for apple. then paying them more.

i really have no idea though, just completely bored right now

i really hope that the zune HD has the potential to do well in the long run, im not saying that they will take away half of apple's market but....i think it will deff be the biggest ipod chalenger

Yeah, I find that a lot more promising than even the iphone, because, correct me if I'm wrong, but anyone can develop apps for this, right? What i mean is they don't need approval from the carrier or Google to distribute it.

Just thought I would bump this for fun. Currently typing from my 16gb ZuneHD as well. For anyone considering the the HD I highly recommend it unless you need all the apps the ipod has. For $199 I bought a 16gb Zune at bestbuy. On the other side of the display was the 8gb iPod touch for the same price... on sale.

Think about it.

I really love my zune, my computer doesn't hold alot of memory, so i can just download music straight to my zune hd, from any wireless internet. Its a really great thing to have.

have you ever had an ipod/itunes? I do right now, but am looking at a zune hd, but dont want to have to reload all of my music to a new music program. plus i have a few hundred songs i bought on itunes and i dont want to lose/not be able to load those to a zune.

when i first got a zune 30, i had itunes and probably 20gigs of music. all of it transferred quickly, you just have to know what folders your stuff is in and set the zune software to look for music or videos or pictures in the right folders and just let it do its magic.

i dont know about the songs downloaded from the itunes store though. i have heard that some transfer, and i have heard that some dont. if anything, burn them to a cd or dvd and then rip them with zune... would take some time but i dont think you would lose any of them.

if youre an app person, i would recommend the ipod over the hd, but if you want a great music and video player, get the zune.

^

basically get the zune unless you want tons of apps, although zune does have some nice ones if you want some games and stuff

right now for zune there are:

vans skateboard game

ferrari racing game

twitter

calculator

sudoku

chess

hexic

music rollercoaster; kind of like tap tap but with tilting to hit the notes

and a few more

if you want a great portable music/video player with a high quality oled touch screen and some bonus features, the zune hd is made to do exactly that.

I think i'm going to ditch mp3 players and get a android phone that plays music....my buddies droid blows a ipod touch or zune away.

while that is great and quite possibly true, i cant afford more than a basic talk/text plan. besides music and accessories, mp3 players are a one time cost.
