Zoom Ring Tightness

So I just picked up a used Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 and the zoom ring is pretty tight with just a tiny bit of choppiness. It's not a big deal since I don't plan on filming with it, I would just like it a little looser.

Might be a stupid question, but is there any way to adjust the tightness of the zoom ring?

That lens is known for having a stiff ring. Apparently it gets a bit better with use
