Finally got mine after lots of waiting. Its supers sick especially for $100. Sound quality is amazing. When I get home tonight, I'll post a review.

Sick man. Is this your first time recording sound seperately? I know I should do it but it seems like such a hassel. I would love to know how it compares to an h4n.

Yup. I did a test before I bought it to try it out. Doesnt seem too bad. Working on it right now, pretty easier. I found software to do it too. I got a friend that had the H4n so I'll compare then soon. I'll make a video for the H1 tonight.

If I upgrade to the D7000 which should have a mic slot I will buy it right away, but my D5000 doesn't have a mic slot.....

D700?The whole point to this is you don't need a mic jack on your camera. It records the audio separately and you sync them together.

and I am mistaken on the mic slot. You don't need one at all for the H1? I really don't know anything about audio

yea you dont need it. your mic plugs into the h1 or use the h1 as the mic. sync in post.

so I could use it in the hotshoe of my D5000 because it doesn't have a mic slot? That's sweet! I still want a D7000 though, no manual control is killing me

you could put a mic on the hot shoe, and run a cable form the mic to the h1

you can mount the h1 on the camera, it has a built in mic but you can plug other mics into it too
