ZERO DARK 30

Anyone else see this? To be honest, I had heard so much hype about this movie before seeing it that I felt a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, i thought it was a good movie, just not as good as a lot of people made it out to be.

Average movie at best. The actual hunt for Osama seemed random, disconnected, and hard to follow. Then the assault on the house was filmed horribly. Too dark to see anything most of the time. Overall, I was pretty disappointed.

The first 3/4 of the movie sooooo bboooorrrriiinnggg. Along with that the first 3/4 of the movie, like what HashBlazer420, was very disconnected. Also the main character was really bitchy and treated her superiors with much disrespect. The last 20-30 minutes was good though. I thought the SEALS looked so boss as they huddled in the stairwell with light glinting off their nightvision goggles.

I feel like Kathryn Bigelow was trying too hard.

Among issues that I had with the movie:

-Feminism, why bring that up in this movie?

-The character played by Chastain apparently is a man in real life (trivial)

-They were constantly talking on cell phones about "protected" items in places where you'd be lucky to find a radio station, let alone cell coverage.

-The Seal's talked back to her about the mission (Military guys do not openly question orders).

-The helos regrouped at a staging location in Afghanistan next to the Pakistan border before heading in (not depicted in the movie)

There were far better movies this year and I hope one of them: Argo, Lincoln, Django, or Silver Linings Playbook wins the Oscar.

It was not what I expected, it was still good, but not what a lot of the hype was about.

I feel like it should have been a free movie on the history channel instead of something I payed to go see.

The most important part, the actual raid, was all jacked up. I spent a lot of time on this topic and they pretty much got it all wrong.

extremely boring

extremely long

score was shit

actors were no names as far as i was concerned. the main character bitch was a bitch and not hot at all

the torture scenes were lame and definitely not accurate

the movie sucked complete dick.

I made a thread on this when i saw it as well. I wasn't expecting to go see a full war action movie. But the best parts were in the preview. For me atleast, I have real bad adhd so when a movie really gets my attention I know its a good, entertaining, movie that really cathces your attention. This movie was wayyy to slow. I thought the main character wasn't really that good. Plus on top of it, it claimed it was moderately accurate to what happened, when in reality they have no fucking idea what actually happened. Usually a badass movie like this would get me pumped on america, but the buildup was very weak and really didnt do it for me

Feminism is never really brought up, and Chastain's character is a women in real life. This movie was just mis-marketed. Most of you probably walked into the theater expecting a fast paced war/spy film about Bin Laden, and were disappointing when you got the exact opposite. I thought it was an incredible film, easily the best of the year. Tense from start to finish, well acted and directed, the final shootout scene was incredible, and seriously thought provoking. I like that the film was politically neutral and wasn't all 'fuck yeah America' when Bin Laden was killed.

It's not supposed to get you pumped on America, it's supposed to make you question our actions in regards to Bin Laden and towards terrorism as a whole. Also, the filmmakers had a lot of high level access. There were even accusations of them having far too much access to the point of being unsafe. So while they took some liberties to streamline ten years into 3 hours, it's quite accurate across the board.

I also think people don't realize what intelligence work is. It's not like in most movies where you look at some files for a minute and it all comes to you. The movie wanted and succeeded in making you feel that frustration of the pieces just not fitting together for some unknown reason.
