Zach Davison's position with Armada

Im wondering why Zach hasnt been moved up to the AM team yet. Hes still listed under regionals on their site.

In the movies released last year alone, he had a great segments with BPB and Rage. He is an amazing all around skiier, he throws down in the backcountry, in the streets and in the park.

I was wondering to myself for a while, then decided to actually make a thread. How does everyone else feel about this? Is there a reason hes still on the regionals? Personally I think he should be boosted up, I dont feel hes PRO status, but at least AM.

Every time one of these threads comes up, I can only repeat:

You do not understand the way Armada's team works. You have no idea what their relationship with Zach Davison entails. All you have is an internet connection.

Stop making judgments.

That’s the reason I made the post you moron. If I understood the way the team works, I wouldn’t have brought this up. Jesus fuck the kids on this website drive me nuts.

In my original post I asked "Is there a reason he’s still on the regionals?"

So instead of being an idiot, why don’t you enlighten us with your knowledge on Armada, and let us know why he is not on the AM team.

Well if you hade any idea about anything you would know that anyone who knew anything about their relationship would not post it for all of newschoolers to look at. Normaly in business people tend to keep these relationships private. So know one is going to post anything and you are an idot.

Well, of course we don't understand. I also was just wondering why he was on the regional team. I wouldn't be wondering if I already knew.

Haha, go Nick, go!

But yeah seriously guys come on, he asked a nice friendly question.

Geeze.

get off your high horse you asshole. you act like you're a part of armada. fuck.

he wasn't making a judgement he was asking a question.

what i think is going on is that armada is redefining what a 'pro' is.

you have to put your time in and pay your dues to truly reach that

status, and most ski companies now do not really work that way. they

sign on the next new hot phenom as a pro before they're even well

known, and the next thing you know, their pro team is full of kids who

aren't legitimate or who are comparable in skill level to the better

skilled kids at many local hills.

look at armada's pro team. every

single athlete has earned their pro status. only now, after 3 years of

top level podiums, have tj and grete reached that status.

in

comparison, look at liberty's pro team. phil larose is the only

legitimate pro out of nine skiers. alex lallier as a pro? um, excuse me

for asking, but who is he and what has he done to be on the same plane

as phil larose?

as far as zach davidson. i too believe, from a

strict bystander's point of view, that at this stage in the game zach

is an am, and was suprised to see only jacob wester on the am page, thinking zach is at the same stage as jacob. but perhaps he has more time left on his contract before he

makes that move. perhaps he hasn't fufilled some sort of criteria i don't know about to be

considered an armada am. competition results...more exposure...i don't know. but i do know that the fact that

armada's reluctance to freely give out the pro, or even the am status

to their riders, is, as cliché as it sounds, a good thing for the sport

of skiing.

I am not a part of Armada. I have no information of particular relevance that could help you understand Armada's team system. I don't know Zach Davison particularly well. I couldn't give you any particular instances in which I've spoken to him or anyone about how they feel about riding for Armada, because there haven't been any. The point, for those too dense to have picked up on it, is that making implications that an individual's relationship with his employer isn't what it should be is ignorant and irresponsible, and none of anyone else's business.

And Amanda, as our current resident NS.com raving psychopath, I take your objections to my opinions as probably the greatest compliment your limited faculties are capable of offering. So... thanks!

Different industry, different practices. Guess why we hold MSP to a higher standard than Microsoft?

if you talk about ALEX LALLIER, man this guy is kind of the man, he's kind of old but he still kills and sw 14, cork 12 in your face and 450 on everything, seriously look for this guy at the OPEN this year

Is Microsoft really that bad of an organisation?

Can you imagine the computer industry with 4 or 5 interfaces fighting with each other? The incompatbitily issues would really get out of hand. nothing would work.

easily am team, if not pro. he is definetly a real sick skier, and like you said throws it down no matter where you put him, i can't wait for his segments this year.

Probably comp results. But honestly, Im sure hes getting free skis, so why does it matter if hes AM? I guess just for the status is all, but he hasnt been on their team long, what 1+ year?

perhaps zach would rather finish college and focus more on his education. hes a sick skiier no doubt, but i think he would rather finish school before he tries to further himself in the armada sponsorship status. almost everyone knows who he is and is alomost a household name, i don't think it really matters then if he is an AM or not. but i am just rambling.

high spin bashing is played man.

Even if Zach is only on the regional team, i think most people consider him an am. The public's opinion is more important than ranking on paper.

i'm sure you're dead on and your boy is a sick rider. but you having to hype him up and enlighten us as to who he is... that absolutely defeats the purpose of him being on a pro team. think about it.

"Im wondering why Zach hasnt been moved up to the AM team yet."

"Personally I think he should be boosted up, I dont feel hes PRO status, but at least AM."

What am I reading wrong here. This looks like the half dozen threads made last year on the same topic, and what was said then still stands.

By the way, as for the mod comment, that's pretty ironic given what I've always said about not listening to the people who run this site just because they happen to run this site.

what i think is really funny, is the implication that JD has anything more than an internet connection. ;)

Hi Zach, hows the summer treating you? This season...tons of fun coming. (ps - I know you're giggling at this thread)
