fucking hilarious. you will never look at chocolate cake frosting the same way again.. go see it

looks so fucking stupid.

i refuse to waste my money on another Judd Apatow failure after Pineapple Express.

kevin smith.
the end..
but seriously the entire theater was laughing pretty much the entire thing, and these two old women next to me thought it was the funniest thing ever, i was kind of creeped out.

First off Apatow has nothing to do with this movie, so I'm going to assume you just felt like hating on someone for being successful, as opposed to having an intelligent opinion (clearly too much to ask).

"Another" failure. Yeah, quite the long list. Let's see.... Anchorman, 40 y-o virgin, knocked up, superbad, sarah marshall, pineapple express. In a time where people can barely write and produce 20 minutes of entertaining/funny/witty material, you decide to knock someone who has consistently produced the best comedies of this decade.

wow you guys got really offended.

and no i didnt feel like hating on apatow for being successful (if you can call it that), i was hatin because almost every movie he has been a part of was a pile of shit.

first off,

Anchorman - alright, no real problems

40 Year Old Virgin - good message, alright jokes. this movie is alright because it was one of the first. they slowly get worse and worse.

Knocked Up - not funny at all.

Superbad - entirely played out. really poorly developed and cliché characters.

Pineapple Express - Dont even get me started on this tragedy. like four funny punchlines the entire film. when i see a movie i want to see shit that will make me laugh. not shit designed for the cast to laugh at, time after time, movie after movie. the ending was a complete travesty, the characters were really lame, and when Rosie Perrez has on of the understated rolls, something is amiss.

and the irony of this quote really gets me: "In a time where people can barely write and produce 20 minutes of entertaining/funny/witty material, you decide to knock someone who has consistently produced the best comedies of this decade. "

pineapple express would have been good ten minutes at a time on youtube. when you have to bring an awesome cameo back like nine times to the point where it is unbareably monotanous, you should find a new business.

so maybe Apatow had nothing to do with this movie - the point is, i dont want to see a movie with an overall pointless plot with all the SAME characters as the movie that came out the month before. seth rogen has completely sold out, that black guy's one liners are annoying as hell, and what the fuck is Katherine Heigl doing with these unoriginal shit-for-brains anyways? she could land way better, non-womanizing roles.

and bro, what was so unintelligent about my opinion? was it because its not the same as yours?

i 100% agree with you because you're completely right from a critic and general money-making point of view yet don't condone this argument because it's a complete matter of opinion with the other dude. but yours is better, so touche.

first off Anchorman was hilarious, if you don't think so "you got mental problems...man"- very original40 Year Old Virgin- very funnyKnocked Up- very funny, had serious parts, maybe cliche, get over itSuperbad- hilarious from beginning to end- you think they're cliche characters only because they were teenage american archetypes. Archetypal does not equal cliche. Plus it tells an undeniably true american teenage story/dream.Pineapple Express- Not the best apatow film, however, certainly not bad. Left me with a feeling that it was a decent movie and I got some good laughs in.
The "black guy" you refer to, also known as "Darryl" from the office, or by his real name- Craig Robinson is hilarious. Watch anything he's in. If you have half a mind, a pulse, or even a good sense of humor, you will laugh your ass off.
I would have to pose a question to you: What producer/writer how has produced/written a film in the past 6-8 years do you consistently see movies at which you laugh throughout? And what was the funniest movie you watched in the past 6-8 years that was made in the past 6-8?
Your opinion isn't unintelligent, you've simply just missed out on an entire generation of good comedy. the simple fact is, if you don't think apatow's movies are funny, you have no sense of humor or ability to discern between good writing and poor or good producing/directing and poor. Hate your life.

hahahaha.

you little fucking prick.

can you name a producer/writer who has been consistent over the past 6-8 years?

cause it sure as hell aint apatow.

and fuck you life faggot, cause im gettin paid like you never seen...so dont come at me with your bullshit opinion...little 5th grade ass mothafucka...

first off- "can you name a producer/writer who has been consistent over the past 6-8 years?"
you can't (saying "ain't apatow" isn't an answer and my point is that you can't)
Secondly- I'm in college- not 5th grade as you seem to think.
Thirdly- It's nice to see that someone "getting paid like you never seen" and who wants me to think they are older and somehow wiser because they think they earn more money than I do has to lower themselves to using words a "5th grader" would use ("little fucking prick", "faggot", little "5th grade ass mothafucka") in lieu of engaging in actual argument.
Fourthly- Try actually arguing my claims. I'm sure they tried to teach you that at whatever fine institution you got a degree from that allowed you to "get paid like you never seen". Maybe it didn't stick...
Fifthly- APATOW is "getting paid like you never seen".
Lastly- it seems you don't value anyone's opinion, not just "5th grade ass mothafucka's" like myself". See a therapist. You seem to have an enormous inferiority complex.

thats the problem right there.

anchorman was good and shit, then apatow blew up, and began cranking out movies as quick as he could.

and id be more that happy to "engage in real conversation" or whatever, but i really dont fucking care.

and yo, by saying "it aint apatow", all i meant is your answer isnt a valid answer either because he has not consistently made good movies. i really dont think any one has.

hes like the Vh1 of the film industry, always tryin to play of his shit to make a buck.

Ok, well now that you've stopped calling me a "fucking faggot", and a "5th grader". You've made a decent comment.
That's fine if you think that he's bullshit or whatever...
I happen to think that he has been the only person in hollywood within the last 10 years able to make consistently funny movies. I think the viewers of his movies would agree, judging by movie attendance. However, just my opinion.
As for the Vh1 comment - making movies is his job. Of course he's trying to "make a buck". You would know all about that what with you "getting paid like i never seen" and all.

the attendance of his movies is only as high as it is because the whole of ameriaca is fucking sheep

and i was only poppin off cause you said fuck your life. now you comin at me tryin to be all righteous and shit.

what ever, im done with it.

peace out.

SOOOOO back to the original posting, who has seen this movie? was gonna go see it on the weekendworth it?funny?funnier then pinapple express (i hope)funnier then 40 year old virgin?

LoopDigga, you're getting paid like i've never seen? first of all, no you're not. second, what the fuck does this have to do with the conversation.
and finally, you're a moron. i'm glad, judging by the rest of this thread, that no one has the same opinion as you and Apatow is getting the defense and credit he deserves. he's been behind some of the funniest movies of the decade.

Geeze, you guys are defending Judd Apatow to the death. Why is everyone getting so defensive because loop doesn't like his movies? do you have something to prove? not everyone has the same taste in movies you know...

I like the movies that this group of actors and actresses put out, but I think they're slowly losing steam. I'll probably end up seeing this anyways.

I think Aptows movies are all pretty good for the most part. I would agree that they are the pretty funny on a consistent basis. They dont use the same plot everytime like most comdy nowadays

They aren't all the same characters on a consistent basis meaning like the same roles every time just different costumes, unlike Will Ferrell movies. Although stepbrothers was funny nothing compared to the older Will. Its all him just doin the same roll over and over again. He really doesnt have anyother roles he can be in besides the goofy childish adult/ person who always ends up being naked. I think it was funny at first but got old really fast. Semi-pro was one of the worst movies ive ever seen. Not funny at all. I think the only recent will ferrell movie that was decent was Ricky Bobby. Anchorman also but those were the good days before he became repetitive.

anyways just my 2 cents

I wouldnt have said a thing if your first post had been constructed like this. Had you even just said that you dislike Apatow movies and not expanded on that, it would have been fine. I just thought it was a bit too easy to call his movies failures and not at least explain yourself a little.

On that note, I agree that pineapple express wasnt the most amazing thing ever. I liked it, but can totally understand why some people wouldnt.

If a movie makes me laugh and I am able to walk out of the theatre happier that I spent my money thaaan...

Fuck storylines, fuck charachter development, fuck casting, fuck script writing, I don't care. It was funny, thank you judd apatow or whoever.

People need to lighten up

HEY! i found a thread full of people who don't have friends to go to the movies with, so they go alone and end up being bitchy and pissed off the whole time because they're lives suck, then they say the movie sucks when they're done watching it, when in reality the movie was amazing and they just can't see how a bunch of dudes getting laid and having fun and going on super cool adventures can possibly relate to real life when compared to their utterly pathetic boring lives.

this thread makes me feel good about my life. thanks guys.

Im gonna have to completley disagree with you man, i enjoyed all those movies (have not seen pineapple express yet heard from trusty sources its great) i think you are in the minority here.

and please dont play the making bank card, i make bank, and enjoy those movies, my buddies dad is a attorney, and he loves those movies, i dont think thats a standing argument at all.

i dont even wanna start with you.

sheep.jpg

and the fact im makin half a mint was only directed at seventeen or whatever his name is. so quit actin like i hit a nerve or somethin.

So pretty much what ive gotten from this thread is that loopdigga is an idiot and misinformed. Not only did he screw up that Judd Apatow had nothing to do with zach and miri but he also thought that elizabeth banks was katherine heigl. Also Judd Apatow has yet to make a bad movie by any means, hes basically on fire and theres really no argueing that.

Also zach and miri will be awesome because kevin smith is awesome. If its half as funny as clerks 2, im still gonna cry laughing when i see it.

katherine heigl was a typo. this does not mean im "an idiot and misinformed".

but if you wanna come at me with something legitimate, i might take the time to form a real response.

BACK TO THE POINT

i really want to see this movie but it doesnt come out where i live until the 31st. im debating weather to watch it online now or wait until it comes out and see it in theaters.

It's been said before, and I'll say it again:

"Fighting on the internet is like the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded"

name a comedy you've laughed at and enjoyed.

and lets be real in this shitstorm the comedy genre has become today apatow puts out some amazing movies.

wes anderson puts out some lolfests too.
