interviewed her- excellent candidate. very competent and intelligent...
she starts working- she has special requests. she doesnt want to work weekends. SHE JUST STARTED and said, "so i need all of my hours during the week because i dont want to work weekends."
my response was, "do you even want to work here?"
and i tried explaining that its a small business and we have to work around EVERYONE'S school schedules so you get the hours that are given to you and you're more than welcome to ask for certain days off here and there. we have 4 employees at her level... if we had more nobody would get good hours. but if we had any less we wouldn't have any coverage. she said she understood. she obviously didnt or was just irritated that she didnt get what she wanted.
employee guidelines state NO USAGE OF CELLPHONES WHILE WORKING except breaks. caught her on her phone twice, reprimanded her and she said she understood, it wouldn't happen again.
it happened again when she was working with two other keyholders (below me, above her) so they are her boss as well. i wrote her up. she seemed confused. her friends came in and she wouldnt leave them alone, keyholder asked her to tell them to leave because the store was packed and she wasnt doing her job. she said they are waiting for me to go on my break. breaks are allowed when a keyholder decides the store is empty enough to be handled by one person. that was not going to be for a looong time.
eventually she went on her break and propped the back door open. she ended her break and left the back door propped open. our safe is in the backroom. our backdoor remains locked at ALL TIMES and she just left it open for anyone to waltz right in. she lied about being late. she said she walked when her car was outside. she just wants what she wants and if she doesnt get it "its not fair"
when she did something wrong she would ask, "are you mad?"
so annoying.
