ok who here is for and against trading music over the internet and burning the songs onto a cd?

personally, im all for it! cd's have become way to expensive these days. if you want an album that isn't mainstream, it's gonna cost you about $20cdn. it's like they're charging us to be different!

im all for it. theres no stores that actually sell CD's at a good price, so why the hell not burn em? its so much easier..

What are you talking about...indie label non main stream crap is usually way cheaper. Go to the bands site or record labels site and order it. CDs are like 8-10 bucks US. Its the non main stream bands you need to support...I think anyone one MTV should have their stuff taken all the time. If you go see a band live in a club buy their CD and a t-shirt. If you love a band but never see them play live, only steal their songs they wont last long if everyone does that. I am all about 'stealing' the new metallica record (F those guys) even though i hate them. I buy tons of cd's and records for bands i like...cause half the bands are made of guys that work real jobs too and are not getting rich.

cds cost ~0.05 cents to record.

artists can be employed for 6.75 an hour.

where is all the money going?

The artists only get like .60 cense per cd anyhow...but then again its itheir/i hard work. I usually d/l songs if I cant afford the whole album or I never intend to buy it. Bands I really like I buy cds from, bands I like I try and buy from but sometimes cash is too tight. If you arent going to buy the cd anyway, why not at least enjoy it.

they are not losing any money from me when i dowlonad all my music anyway, cuz if i wasn't downloading it, i wouldn't be buying it either. All i am doing is giving the artist more exposure.

haha yea i actually agree with yeti there, i download all my music i have bought like 3 cds in my life but even if we didnt have sites to download music i still wouldnt buy cds id just listen to the radio

I've burned my share of cd's, but if I find a band I like I will try to support them by buying their cd. I have no simpathy for multi million dollar band complaining that they lost a few sales. basically if it is a good cd I may buy it, if it has maybe one good song, then I will burn it.

If artists didn't act like assholes about it I would be. Then act like it's all about the music getting to the people.

I don't see why artists don't want their music to spred. If someone likes their music they are gonna buy the CD (usually) even if they can just download it. A bunch of babies who just want every penny possible

I am totally for it. i download music all the time of bands, and I burn cds all the time. I have full albums burned, but because I like the band, I end up buying the cd to support them.

I'm for it if there some friggin' rich band that has too much money anyway, but I would rather go out and find the CD's for smaller bands that dont have any money and are underground or whatever.

But with ski vids I am against it. I would never dub a ski movie cause those guys work freakin' hard to put those together and you should support them anyway because their helping skiing. If they didn't make them then you would have nothing.

So buy ski vids.

it's bullshit. record companis sell a cd for 15 bucks, but the artist gets like 1dollar. soo gay, so i just say screw the record companies. besides, a band can make plenty of dough playin gigs live and shit.

I say $20 CDs are bullshit, so I encourage people to burn.

If the band is dead and the members are not alive, i just burn because I don't want to give my money to some record company. Bands that I really like I will burn there livestuff and some of thier CDs, but make sure to go to their shows and buy some of thier CDS and their mechandise. Other stuff I burn thats is so-so I don't do anything special!

I listen to music that they dont put CD's out for, or I try to find the unpopular songs from CD's that no usual record store has. Try some 'unpopular' music. buring CD's is cool too. and i agree with the thing about the bands not getting much per CD, its better to go to thier live concerts if you really want to support them. Record companies are even now trying to controll online radio stations. ever wonder why some stations play the same songs over and over again? Record companies again. They're to influential on the music industry, and they dont represnt whats good music anymore, they only support whats profitable to them. I dont like it, so i use kazaa...is kazaa really shutting down?
