Your theorys on space and infinity

What are your thoughts on space? Do you think it goes on forever? How would it end?

Post up children

I always think about this shit, and i always wonder, is each star like our sun, and has an earth too? Are we once going to encounter with them and freak the fuck out? And does it end? so many unanswerable questions, i could talk about it forever, i dont like typing too much tho.

I've thought about it before, but it's too confusing for my feeble mind. I just end up thinking about the hot girl at the mountain or skiing powder.

infinity is just a beautiful thing to think about, i try and live with the idea in my perception, not just with respect to the planets and such... but in the things like you and I... i believe our soul if you will... is infinite and cannot be valued.. and our body is just a limited expression of that... like a stencil in front of a endless waterfall of paint. lol. and this belief applies to all forms of life. i believe conciousness is infinite.. and energy in the form of our bodies are the only defined limits (aswell as other physical material)

i think the universe ends, it's just constantly expanding and creating matter. i also think there are tons and tons of toher planets with life on them right now. It's just theyt're so freakin unbelieveably far away, we'll never ever ever even know about any of them.

YEa its crazy how we're here. What happened to the 2 billion years we all missed?

I have this "theory"

Everything a person knows is a teaching. From thinking to talking to anything its a teaching. Imagine if you lost almost all teachings and had to just.... be.

alright who used to play starfox 64? you know the multiplayer level with the pyramid in it, well when you fly away from it, after a while you actually start flying back towards it without turning around. yep thats what space is really like

if the universe does go on forever, then logically, there has to be countless other planets that can sustain life. it's unrealistic to think that we are the only planet with living, conciouss beings. it makes you realize how small your problems are in the great scheme of things. hell, even something like the war in iraq or global warming is nothing when compared to the huge expanse of time and energy and space in the universe.

i think once u hit the edge u fly through a just bearly penatrable wall of the universe, and once u get through it ur in a place were the snow never goes away

my theory is that space, time, and heaven are 3 separate "ropes" and are braided together in a tight circle. These "ropes" have boundries that occasionally can be broken and anomalies occur. this thoery Im sure has many flaws but it seems logical to me and thats what i think. however, after years of thought i concluded this topic is 100% irrelevant due to the fact that it doesn't matter till I die, and even then it won't in the scheme of things so I gave up caring a year ago and now im a much happier person.

with other life, im like 100% sure there is, they have found the fossil's of little microscopic organisims on mars, they arent totally sure that thats what it is but chances are thats what it is. and if we can find fossils of living organisms on mars, im sure there is life on other planets.

and one thing ive thought about is since space is like never ending, is it the same way with how small stuff gets? like does stuff just keep getting infinatly smaller? it makes sense to me.

wow, i just got the chills thinking about this. I was thinking about how on other planets there are probably a bunch of other beings sitting on their versions of computers talking about how sweet their extreme sport is. Its creepy to think that thats out there.

This thread is pretty deep.

My inner nerd is telling me to write a report on universe theories for all of you guys, but I just got home from drinking and I'm tired as fuck.

there is a lot of talk about how the universe is "huge." but really, what is huge? huge is nothing more than an adjective for size taht you use to descibe something. it is all relative to our mind, body, earth. maybe the universe isnt the space. who knows maybe our universe is the size of an atom in some other some other universe that is undoubtedly much larger. to illustrate this idea best, though it is remedial, i ask you to recall the movie Men in Black where at the end of the movie, they zoom out and the galaxy is nothing but a marble played with by aliens. think about it. maybe we are nothing more than a dust particle in another universe. think about it, you'll go nuts.

indeed^ it reminds me of at the end of MIB when they show the entire universe is just one little marble and some aliens are playing with a few other marbles. hehe

so what if were just a part of an atom thats part of some bacteria thats attatched to some gum on some kids shoe. and what if his universe is nothing more than a hair on someones head, and what if that guys universe is part of a... well yeah. this could go on for a while.

or what if the atoms that we know of are just little tiny universes? This is probably less likely but i guess its possible.

yeah, there is actually a mathematical equation for that, which takes into account all the different factors (that we know). and in the end, it gives a probability, which, if i remember correctly, is pretty high. i'll try and the book today that gives it.

and i love the concept of infinite. like time. it's so hard to think about, but you can't see it or touch it, and it will never end and it never began.

thers also a cool one I saw in nature last year...bascially the reasoning is, if the universe is infinite, or even just incredibly big, which looking at movement of plantes and running off big bang theory we can assume it is (not infinte...jsut big enough) then some incredibly far distance away from here, like ten or twelve times as far as light has every travelled to the earth. so something like 10 billion years away travelling at the speed of light, by mathamatical probablility, if there is uniform elemental composition of the univers, then after that difference there will be a totally parallel universe, perfect to every last detail. why? because in our "univers" there are a finite number of atoms (qirks, quarks etc...), and theres a finite number of ways those atoms can be arranged. therefore, you go far enough, and you will eventually find another palce where all other possible arrangments have been used, and the first one is duplicated. bingo, parallel universe.

what if we're just a speck of dandruff on a giants head taking a shower with head and shoulders as we speak? we're screwed!

Wow you loser, you stole that idea from a new book about all of this, the writer was on the colbert report and said the same shit you just said. dumbass.

I've read a bunch of stuff on Einstein, and he has some unbelievable theories on this. The one theory that jumps out at me right now is this:

There are multiple universes. Our universe does have its limits and does end. The physics of each universe is based on how they are shaped. Ours is shaped like a sphere, explaining how our laws of physics exist. But, there are other universes in existense that are irregularly shaped, perhaps like a twisted shape. Because of their different shapes, their laws of physics are completely different. The laws of gravity, intertia, etc. are completely different and whacked out compared to ours.

Trying to comprehend it gives me a headache.

It crazy to see how small we and in the universe. The universe continues to expand until the matter with in it will make it inplode or something.

i wonder what my last thought will be fore i die.. like is this whats dyings like..will i be scraed then fade out into oblivion.. its hard to comprehend nothingness... but there was nothingness before i was even born... i wonder what i was like before i began conscious thought... i beleive in a kind of reincarnation... ima prolly come back as another conciuosness.. not me personally... but theres gonna be a person born after i die and were all gonna keep living lives.... someone probably died before i was born and i was them... its all so crazy... man im tripping

at the same time as our problems are infinitely small, they are infinitely big; relatively doesnt apply when dealing with infinitey.

i think about this shit too. all i have to say is that i know there has to be some other like of life out there. there is billions upon billions of space. there has to be something.

if space really is infinite in lenght, and if you could go like a guardasjkfzillion times faster than the speed of light, you could get in a spaceship, and just go, and then you'd get to a point where the light hasn't reached yet, then you'd see the big bang

or you could just be a mindless religious fanatic and claim god did it all

it's true. light is a form of time. one going at an extremely fast speed actually stops aging for the period of time they are moving at such a fast speed. when astronauts come back to earth after space travel, they can sometimes actually be a few minutes younger than they did before.

OK I GOT IT!!!! this is how we will find out for heavan...somebody killthemselves and then comeback to ns as a spirit or gost and post something and say wat its like or if there even is a heavan

fuck you you piece of shit. I had this huge discussion with my chemistry teacher last year and thats the visual of space I came up with. go directly to hell. do not pass go do not collect shit.

yeah, you would be able to see the big bang or the creation of the universe. But traveling the speed of light is pretty much impossible... unless you accelerated super slowly or something

but if it ended than how i mean u would just fly and BAM!!!!! u blow up and shit is all over this like wall....... but then i dont get how it never ends, and also like how was god always there, like was there some one that created him, but then who created the guy who created god i mean i just dont understad it like how the universe never ends and also that there must be othe life because for how big the universe is there must be another life form or some shit......... now i have a hge head ache thinking about this topic

Also, if you think of it, our lives are actually completely useless. We could all be extinct by tomorrow... but it wouldn't matter. We are utterly pointless. We are exactly the same as the sun, a piece of grass, a rock etc.. It we die, what's it matter, time keeps moving. We are all made up of the exact same materials as the son and all stars. We are all basically just hydrogen and helium, that's it. We as humans, just kind of created our own reality that we are important, that we are the only living things in the gigantic universe (which is just being dumb). It's like we all think that the human race is the only thing that matters, but in fact, if we all went extinct, it wouldn't affect anything. So technically we are all worthless.... which really sucks.
