Your outwear style, and your riding ability style

im the worst skiier in the world, and i wear one peice footy pajamas. so...... i guess i dress to fit the profile.

i have a really big gold suit. the one KZA wore last season except i never wanted to copy him. i found out KZA had it after watching a 4b9 edit a couple weeks after mine came it. i dont really care though it was a sweet deal, 270 brand new

whistler, i would NOT say im good i dress how i like to all i can do is like 3, switch ups, ive landed a few 27's on and im can 27 off and barely unnatty 27 off.. and i tried a backflip and failed but i dont give a siht i have fun so hehehe :)\

end claim

im not gonna lie, if i see a kid who has a sick setup and looks the part of a good skier i kind of expect them to be good, and if they suck i kinda think they shouldnt deserve cool clothes haha, but on the other hand i think my setup looks really good but i am not very good so i am trying to change my way of thinking.

why do people care what other people wear?  im mean seriously, why do we have to judge?  if a kid can afford dope clothing, more power to him.  If you're gonna judge people, judge them on their skills and style, not what new outerwear they are rocking.

This whole argument is retarded. Let people dress the way they want to dress, and who cares how good they are. Worry about what YOU wear, and worry about what YOU can do. Many skiers, regardless of how much they rip it in the park, want to distinguish themselves from the stereotypical skier (racer, etc) as a park skier, whether being a pro, good, moderate, or just beginning. Therefore, they'll dress "like a park skier". Props for those kids who rip it, props for kids who bust theyre ass to get to that point. Who cares what they wear, were all in the same boat.

Unless they talk shit. Then own them.

My little brother wears shredded 7 year old Sears hand me down outerwear, 4 yr old thrashed salomon 1080s, old crappy used boots and a borrowed full face bike helmet and he throws smooth 3s, decent 5s and sometimes 7s, and does most straight, one kink or curved rails/boxes with 270s after his first year of park, so equipment really doesn't have much to do with riding ability.

this year i've seen more crews kitted out who suck than ever before. how baller someone looked used to be somewhat of an indicator of skill, but definently not anymore.

i unno if this is relevant or not but i also look at it this way if your wearing liek tight shit or even stuff that alot of the other ppl on the hill wear like all the normal non twin tipper skiers and u do like 180s or 360s FOR SUM REASON IMO they look btr if your wearing like baggier more of our style kinda stuff.. just an opinion...

lol sorry fuck i need to edit my posts cus even i have a hard time understanding what i just wrote

im bad at english

i was thinking about making a thread about this before but kinda a different idea behind it, i find it lame when ppl have whole newest outerwear but seriously cant do shit.. posers

i just remember being up at meadows opening day and seeing a kid in the whole new oakley setup, this years axis jacket and matching pants - i saw him standing at the top of the rail park not doing shit, so i kinda guessed wow this kids prolly really good and hes eventually gonna drop down and just work us on this rail, i was completely wrong, finally after standing at the top of the park for several several minutes i see him drop down and eat major shit on the rail... that was the last i saw him that day except a little bit later he was skiing on the bunny hill,

i think if you wanna wear baggy steezy outerwear, go ahead but atleast you gotta be pushing it out there, even if its just your fist grind on a rail its all good, but comeon dont get this years oakley setup stand around and not even try w/ it.. that is a little lame

I rock the Aeryx blue suit, and I honestly couldn't give more of a shit about my "riding ability style".

Then how come when people ask how to stick a rail on NS, they simply tell them to loosen their pants and widen their stance (essentially to look gangster)?

I wear what i think looks cool. doesnt matter how I ski I just wanted outerwear that makes me stick out a bit on the hill with my own style. I could suck or I could be amazing. Doesnt really matter what I wear.

i don't have much style at all, but im alright, new to park and shit. but my friend got some baaggy steezy gear this year and he is worse than me for sure.

this si a redic thread, alright if your good you can even pull off gaper steeze, if you suck and spend tons of cash ona rad getup. good for you, but its kinda a waste, of money for you, and taking the shit away from better skiers. haha. WHO CARES. but yeah.... there are such things as posers. also, i assume kids that spend a ton of money on shit also claim like mad.

yeah i wear gangstah shit and ski pretty goo. complete claim, i know. idk, it compliments my ridin style fah sho.

This thread is interesting to me. I see lots of kids wearing designer outerwear, but regardless of the items worn, the real G skiers look doper than ones who suck. you can take 2 kids in the same outerwear, and one is bad as shit and the other sucks, and without watching them ski, I think you can tell who's better. Dope riders just look right in their shit. The rider makes the outfit.

i think how i dress is pretty close to how i ski. some people hold back there abilities because of the way they dress because they dont want to show that they are not that good. but if you have a style that matches how you ski, there will be no problems with progression.

fabric can have adverse effects on people, weird huh? with that said... 2bi4 kills it all day every day, saggy n' baggy.

wearing expensive shit doesn't affect your ability and duct taping doesn't make you better but both are sometimes huge attempts to make a statement, even if your posing. can we just end this thread once and for all. none of this talk is going to change anything so why even bother wasting our times. people are going to wear whatever they want regardless of the kids in here that call them posers. but who knows if they're just claiming?

i comepletely agree! everytime im in the park i notice some kid getting heckled or somethin cuz hes tryin to learn to slide rails and the other kids think "he doesnt deserve to be in the park cuz he sucks"

yeah like they never were rookies, they naturally were amazing and steezy when they started. and i'm sure they all wore gaper clothes too and didn't try to look good. fuck it

Who gives on what someone else might be wearing. I saw someone in a peacoat yesterday. I would never do it, but the kid was out skiing, and having fun. Who cares about anything else?

I myself have a bright green sessions jacket, nice Oakley goggles, new pants. I have nice gear. I'm not that good of a park skier. I can ski the rest of the hill pretty well.

Should I be judged for wanting nice gear even though I'm not the best park skier?

Ridiculous.

i like steeze but i also like functionality. that is why i'm rockin some baggy arcteryx stuff. it seems to be a good combo between the two. i'm solid at park, 450's out, 270's on, switchups, switch 7's, rodeo 5's, and believe it or not i can actually ski the whole mountain omgz!!!

haha i knew someone would say that, but thats what the thread asked for and i felt like giving an accurate response.

i reckon that when i look good, i feel more inclined to ski better. and there definatly seems to be some kind of possitive correlation in the way you dress and how good you are. This might not always be the case, but i see kids wearing sick stuff and 9 out of 10 times they are amazing.

these days i've been dressing like an emo hesher indy snowboarder fag, and i can ski triple black diamonds and do side slides on grinderbars

im allright i guess i can 270 on, 270 off and do 3's i want to do some 5's and see where i go from there this weekend, i got baggy brown pants and a xl lime green oakley axis jacket, and a brown/tan jacket also, and if youre gonna hate cuz i got nice clothes then fuck you im out there tryin my hardest always progressin and havin fun
