Your opinion on the Atomic Twin-Tips?

I don't want any hate in this thread, only constructive criticism on the skis themselves.

I want to know what you guys think about Atomic's line-up for twin-tip skis:

Are they durable? (I'm talking about all parts of the ski)

How do they perform?

What do you think they can improve on?

What are they like compared to the other twin-tips on the market?

I'm just curious about the company's twin-tip/freestyle skis. Maybe people who are looking to buy new skis can check out this thread and get a better opinion on this company.

Atomic has been making skis for ages, and they've definitely figured out what works well. Their skis tend to be super values and ski better than what other brands have at the same price point or higher.

After all, the press Armada's skis for them and almost everyone has only good things to say about Armada's quality and ride.

I've ridden several of their all mountain twins (coax, access, snoop) as well as some older triplets, and have nothing to say but good things. The stuff is very bombproof, stable, and works exactly as designed. I constantly debated getting patents, and will have a pair for an "extended demo" in the next few weeks (i love my rep). The stuff is well priced, a good value, and with solid customer service behind it.

In my opinion, all around win.

Me and my cousin have/had triplets, and my brother purchased punx after riding them for a day.Very durable skis, i have hit a lot of rocks and only 1 full core shot, and that was from a rock that stopped me fast enough to faceplant. Will definitely consider another pair of atomics when i buy new skis

I managed to get tail rocker on both this years punx in less than 10 days and

nose rocker on one ski.

Also got a coreshot because of the soft basematerial. It's superfast but

it's really fragile compared to AR6 and suspect bases. While I could

ski on asphalt without any scratches under the base on my suspects I'm

little scared even seeing a small rock on the hill with my punx.

Topsheet and sidewall chips as bad as suspects or even worse imo.

But I really like this ski because of the lightness and soft flex.

^ that sounds like some bad luck for you.

I love my chetlers, super fun and take me anywhere I want to go. Bases are solid and I have never had any issues with my atomics. I find that they are lighter than most other companies make and in turn they are really poppy, plus they are stable but not super stiff. You cant go wrong with some atoimics, I think that anyone who has them will tell you how good they are.

Fragile compared to SUSPECTS? Wow, that's the first time I've heard that! Thanks for your opinion though.

ive never had a pair of atomics but my good friend got a pair and one time he did a nose stall and the top sheet graphic pop'ed off. thats all ive got

i ski this years punx and i'm in love. theyre light, super flexible, and they absolute rip switch with their symmetrical sidecut. no edge cracks and ive been doing a ton of rails this season. these skis also rip outside the park. i carved the sweetest turns the other day and i raced on these. my only gripe is topsheet damage. its not to the same degree as armada, but it you push these skis, the topsheet tends to chip a wee bit

There is no better twin tip pow ski on the market than the BentChetler. This ski is super durable, super poppy, and super fun! This ski has been my goto ski for all conditions except hard pack.

A rockered ski is not my ski of choice on the hard pack days. I usually go with traditional cambered ski, Atomic Crimson or Salomon Fury, on these days.

I have the 184 patent and they are so sick. Takes a little to get used to the cap/sidewall construction ( a little damp), but they rip everywhere and have stood up to quite a bit of abuse.

My 184 patents were good. The edges were solid and had minimal chipping after a season of heavy abuse, had quite a few deep gashes in the base from fastplants/not waxing. Top sheet liked to chip and fall off. And I snapped the tails through the core landing very backseat a week ago, I think it was caused by water getting into the core from the realy deep topsheet gashes. They lasted longer than I thought, and were overall good skis while they lived. R.I.P.
