Your job

I'm a masters student doing a course I hate.

Next year I will hopefully be working part-time in something related to skiing/mountain biking and doing yet more uni. This time, however, I'll actually give a shit and have better job prospects.

design engineer for a company that designs, manufactures and operates jack-up platforms and drill rigs (both for vessels and jack-ups) for marine applications.

I like it, but its not close to skiing. Plan is to one day move to Canada and work in offshore oil/gas

Vessel mounted rigs use heave compensation to prevent the drill impacting with the seabed as the boat pitches. Cool bits of kit

supervisor of pizza shipment and handling. im also the head of customer interaction and the leading scientist in our r&d department.

i deliver pizzas for a mom and pop pizza shop in my town. as i am their only employee (it's owned and operated by a husband and wife) i deliver all the pizzas, wash the dishes and chill out in between. sometimes i make food with wild ingredients and sauces to see if it tastes good and attempt to get the owners to put it on the menu. its cool.

Imagine a large ship at sea with a drill rig on the deck. The drill itself and the lengths of pipe (the drill string) which connect it to the motor pass through the hull of the vessel. As the vessel pitches in waves, the drill similarly moves up and down. Heave compensation is what stops the drill from moving up and down as the boat does, basically like suspension. Currently we use a passive system, where air rams are used to suspend the drill motor, drill string and drill bit. This is like air shocks on a mountain bike. We are looking to develop an active compensation system, which uses the accelerations measured on the deck of the vessel to control the vertical motion of the drill by motors. Finished my first year of university and I just got a job today at a golf course. Seems like a pretty good job for the summer..

Saw some guy walk in to a subway after me do this. It was durango, and he was baked

This summer I'm getting a job at a resort in Colorado, on the San Juan river. They have hot springs and the whole place reeks of sulfur. I'm gonna be at the front desk of the bath house. Not a bad job if you ask me

I was working parking at my Resort. Done by 11 everyday and the everyday tips of weed/alochol/other resort tickets from customers were not too bad.

I work as a recruiter for pharmacy jobs. I sit all day and go through tons of resumes, linkedin profiles, NS threads, facebook posts, tweets, monster.com profiles, NS threads, facebook... repeat.

Thats pretty much my day to day with frequent leaving of voice-mails for people who will never call me back. Sometimes I get someone on the phone and they actually want the job. But then they are asking for too much money. Man my job is great.... :/

I get yelled at by bigger guys with superiority complexes, try my hardest not to get caught laughing, get my ass kicked all day long and receive a fat paycheck every 2 weeks. Yup, Canadian Forces Reserves are the shit!

also a lifeguard at a huge outdoor pool. as well a counselor at a ski camp on Mt. Hood during the summer. mad radical

Me too man! Life sucks behind a desk #deskfever. I came to realize today that the most variation between my M-F is 3 things, what I eat during the day, if I chew gum in the morning, and how I carry my laptop case.... Today I held it in my hand instead of over the shoulder strap! EXCITING SHIT I KNOW RIGHT.

I'm an instructor at a surf camp, so I get paid to surf, play beach games, tan and teach kids to surf, which is the coolest tihng to watch. Best job ever.

Yup - i've worked offshore in the North Sea on that bad boy... not a bad boat - but has a retro-fitted heli-deck that makes a helluva noise in heavier sea's when you hit bigger waves..

i snort cocaine off of kate upton's stomach, then we bang it out on the beach. afterwards we lay in a hammock together and watch the sunset. sounds like your job sucks

I work at a country club getting golf balls off of the driving range and cleaning clubs all day long. basic for how good the tips are

squash coach, pretty easy money to be honest. Hopefully getting my lifeguarding qualification this summer though, so if all goes to plan, by the winter i will be a lifeguard...

^THE BEST Thing ever is when you know you have a good lunch and its so exciting knowing you have that to look forward to but thenyou allways eat it early because its all you can think about but then you get hungry at 4 aclock again. When i need a change I wear a tie for a day or 2 just to change it up give it a try if you dont wear them on a regular basis. It will remind you that even though youre misriable you could be more misriable wearing a tie.

A&W has good burgers, but their whole 'we dont need ice in the drinks cause theyre cold enough' is baloney. i want ice in my fucking drink. If someone asks for ice can you give it to them? i hope so, cause thats a stupid policy and theyre pushing it way too hard. i like my coke watered down!

tasty burgers though :)

I sell Kirby vacuums full time

Shitty hours but I make around $1,000 a week, its not a bad gig being that I'm only 19....

Graphic Designer

Day job is for an Alt Weekly, not the greatest pay, but the perks help out. Lunches with the team usually involve copious amounts of beer and whiskey, I get the hookup for most concerts that roll through town, and we get great deals from a lot of the downtown businesses.

I also do freelance design work on the side, and am a full time uni student.

kiowas! the cowboys of afghanistan for sure. i saw one with the pilot shooting an m4 out the side like a drive by. pretty rad.
