APOLOGIES - pressed submit by mistake in my last thread:

Hey everyone,

I am skiing in La Plagne next week, and its always at this stage that I cant help but check loads of different snow forecasts (mostly out of excitement), and it got me thinking. Anybody else do the same? I've found a few cool sites if anybody else finds this stuff interesting:

Snow-forecasthttps://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/La-Plagne/6day/mid

Piste Pro -https://pistepro.com/snow-forecast/la-plagne/

I always find these smaller sites much more reliable than the BBC / Sky for some reason.

Anyway, happy skiing everyone :)

There’s this free knockoff of opensnow called onthesnow on the App Store and it sucks for forecast but it’s nice cause you can check cams for all the places you want in one place

Before they went to the paid model I followed Joel Gratz's daily blurb on Opensnow religiously. Since they went to a paid model I don't use it anymore :(

I like Wunderground for weather now

Windy.com to check for Pacific depressions.

Weathernetwork for local weathers

Environment Canada for the doppler radar

Webcams for mountain weather

NOAA by far. It is where most places get their info. Better to go to the mother source.

NOAA is a US government organization so they only forecast in the US, they’re the best tho

for Canada:

weather.gc.ca/mainmenu/weather_menu_e.html

for Europe:

ecmwf.int

these are basically the equivalents of the NOAA in the US - get it from the source!

spotWX . Good to learn to read and interpret data and with some experience you can better understand the margin of error and the unpredictable possibilities that can make the resort forecast innacurate.
