Your Favorite Canon Lens

My 24-105 is sick, such an awesome lens! wide enough for follows, but i can get nice and tight if I need to. Constant aperture too, which is really nice. Wish it was a 2.8, but can't win em all.

hmmm...

I actually really liked the 24-105 on a crop. not wide, but a great standard-tele zoom

Not specifically canon, but I love my tamron 17-50 and tokina 11-16 lenses. The tamron has a really nice range and is very sharp when stopped down and the tokina is SO WIDE and so sharp.

Out of these two lenses and a canon 17-40 what would you guys recommend getting

I have a 10mm fisheye as well. So that could help me make a decision

I think the tamron 17-50 is just as good for video as the canon 17-40 and the 17-40 is slower and triple the price. The tamron 17-50 is the best bang for the buck.

85mm f/1.8.

L quality lens if you ask me. Super sharp, super nice contrast and you can't beat it for the price.

I love all my lenses (tokina 11-16, tamron 17-50, 50 1.8, canon f4l 70-200), but i'd say the 50mm 1.8 is still prob my favorite to shoot with. it depends on what shot i'm trying to get but it's just so sharp i love it

70-200 f4 is my go to walk around. Wish it were a 2.8 though, it gets too slow once the sun is getting low.

What would you guys recommend for my first lens that I would use mainly for video with some stills on the Canon 60d i just ordered, I'm leaning towards the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8...

around 500 would be good, Im a college student and don't have a lotta spare cash, Id prolly get another lense at some point in the future but am just looking for 1 lens to get right now
