Your favorite all-around lens?

What is your favorite "all-around" lens? I have seen stand out lenses in the wide angle, macro, fisheye etc. categories but what are some peoples favorite all arounds?

fast 50 (25mm f1.4 on gh2), and usually I will bring my fisheye too, it fits in a jacket pocket super easily, and I really like the lens.

35mm f1.2 nokton ASPH II m mount. Makes canon/nikon lenses look pretty shitty (because most are)

Quite expensive though. But camera field is the only thing where you get what you pay for (more relevent when you pay less).

in the great world of leica cameras, $1200 for a lens isn't that much, cheeper then any 35lux

lately I have really enjoyed using my Nikon 24mm f/2.8 AI-s

otherwise, since I do a decent amount of run-n'-gun type shooting, I seem to use my Nikon 35-70mm f/3.5 AI-s quite often

What do people think of the Tamron AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Aspherical IF A14? Pretty cheap and seems very versatile. Considering it as an upgrade from the canon kit lens. And does not having stabilization matter a lot? I know a shitton of people have the 17-50 2.8 non-vc and use it for skiing, but do they just not care about the stabilization?

I think that their primary objective with this lens wasn't image or build quality but just the possibility to create one of the longest names for a lens ever.

Your right! I am saving up for some things right now like an adapter for some vintage stuff and a wide angle lens.

Zeiss Planar 80mm on my Hassy. Classic, classic look.

30mm f1.4 Sigma on my 20D/550D - as much as it has it's limitations, I have been extremely happy with the results from this guy.

Rokkor 50mm f1.4 on my Minolta for 35mm.

I don't really use zooms, but if I did, a 17-50mm would be all I'd go for.
