Have you ever seen any Stept film (mainly the urban focused ones, from Network to Ten and Two)? Most of those movies portray the reality of urban skiing in tenfolds compared to this one segment of Habit. I guess you dislike Mutiny, which is rated as one of the best ski films of all time by many.
I think it's important to show the reality of skiing: It's never easy even when you're a pro and at the top of what you're doing. Don't know about you, but these kind of vibes in ski films make me want to ski urban even more. They give a glimpse of what it actually takes to get good tricks on tape. And if you have ever skied urban you can identify with what you're seeing. I'm all in for ski porn, but a reality check in this particular segment seemed fitting for me.

Yeah I wasn't a huge fan of STEPT's movies after the eighty six because they got too dark for me. I think street skiing should be fun. When I go street skiing, I'm usually trying to do something small and jibby. I've hit some bigger spots before and the feeling of reward you get from hitting a scary urban feature is pretty cool but I'm still skiing away thinking "I don't want to do that again," because it was terrifying. I don't find people getting hurt doing burly urban inspiring because it doesn't look fun. Also, it is possible to have bails in your movie without creating a sad/depressing vibe.

I guess they just wanted to show how they actually felt during the trip, which was cool imo. Maybe the goal wasn't to stoke people up but to document what happened. No reason to hide your vibes behind a "jolly atmosphere" if you know what I mean.
I do see your point completely though. I guess people are excpeting Level 1 to stick on a more traditional pure ski porn movie to stoke people up for the season, like they have done so far pretty consistenly. Each for their own, though.

Keegan and Will Berman's part was insane, felt like an '09-'10 Level 1 movie. If not Will/Sami and Khai's part were my favorites, would've been even better if we hadn't already seen the shots in Real Ski but I like Real Ski so.
Overall best Level 1 film since Partly Cloudy, and it doesn't even compare with Small World and Pleasure

Everyone was on the slay but Thayne Rich is really on a MURDA mission. Might be the best bc skier in the world right now!
And Keegs sw 3 no grab is my new fav trick. Reminds of how smooth Delorme was back in the days.

LJ Strenio, no question. I liked how they included his frustrations followed by him getting the trick. Shows what a persistent guy he is. Also he’s probably the only person on this planet who would think of backflipping onto that Pilar

That needed to be shown before. There was one Stept seg that I saw (can't remember who but was reposted a few months back) with loads of shoulder surgery shots and got pretty dark. Whilst I've not seen Mutiny, haven't bought it but mean to (af anyone has a copy they could share that'd be sweet, broke student) I feel like that segment crossed a line a little, I wanted to see skiing, it was still decent and I definitely feel the reality needs to be shown. I like knowing it's not as easy as they make some things look!
