So what is your craziest bail?

o ya i forgot to mention mine...haha i went off a big ass jump and spun a 3 but when i popped off the lip one of my skis came off and i kept spinning and i landed just with one ski and then smacked my back on the landing. then some snowboarder fell right after me and ran over my ski. THE END

I dropped into the couloir lookers left of centre (Pisteurs Couloir, Val d'Isere, France). I was young and inexperienced at the time, didn't realise how dangerous it was (at the time). Deep slab ripped out, all the snow in the couloir slid. I instinctively cut out to the side to try to escape in the hope I'd stick in the rock face. It didn't happen (hardly realistic on a 50 degree rock face) and I ended up tumbling the entire rock face (about 200 vertical metres) skiers left of the top couloir and, by now unconscious, splashed into the skier's left couloir that branches from the main one lower down. Avvy runout 6 ft deep covering entire lower powder field. Two weeks in hospital. Two months in a neck brace. 16 stitches in my back. Shredded helmet and back protector. No lasting injuries. Ridiculous that I didn't die let alone be paralyzed. Thanks Sweet Protection!

True story. Lesson learnt, rediculously lucky.

Snapped of my legbone, 3 places in the same bone.

The foot was turned 180 degrees, took me 3 hours to get to the hospital, where I had to wait for hours aswell, so it hurt like a motherfucker when the doctors turned the foot around again.

3 months on crutches, fucking worst time of my life. Took me almost a year before I could walk normally again.

This was in 7th grade

wow, mine seems really tame compared to this, I was messing in the park, when I saw some guys I knew ski past, I decided to catch up, so i mished it down the mountain, then my ski tip got caught up on a tree root, it dug in to the POW, I went down and rolled, my binding didn't open, I rolled, my leg didn't, yea, know I'm just sat here, wishing I could run, let alone ski, Doc says another 2 weeks and I should be able to do some kind of skiing...

overshoot on a table in the park, landed on my head/neck ,somehow dislocated my hip(i think the tail of my ski hit the ground first and twisted my hip out), 6 weeks on crutches ( get off them next week) and cant ski until next year..

probly when i was testing a jump that just got reconstructed and overshot it onto my back where i fractured my sternum and was screwed at anything for 7 months.

or last weekend where i fucked up on a sw 5, did a switch rodeo to my head and broke my collar bone.

didnt really get hurt but i thought it was funny a few weeks ago i tried to tweak the hardest mute 1 just for fun and i tweaked my ski off. i was kinda just like oh shit while holding my ski in the air.

Earlier this season, when we were building our table at the hill, we were testing it out. We figured it needed more kick to it, so the groomer went in and made it steeper as myself and others were hiking up.

A snowboarder offered to hit it, and it looked fine. He gae the wave, so others went down, pretty sure a skier and another snowbaorder. The snowboarder overshot but a bit, but was fine. I guess the lip was a little to steep, and Chris(skier) was sent flailing in the air.

I already had my music on, and didnt hear him yelling. I went in for a switch 3, did like a switch frontlip 180 and landed wierd on my shoulder. My ankle twisted in my boot, and still bothers me. This was mid december.

So, I was skiing on christmas eve at our local hill. Its literally a hill. 3 tow ropes, but still so fun. There were a couple boxes set up and a tiny jump just to mess around on. Some kids got out these two rails that when set up are very nuttable. I've done the set up before but I guess I just wasn't feelin it this time. The rails were set up as a flat down rail. I went up to the jump and didnt have enough speed so i just skiied by. I proceeded to do this again. My 3rd time i was just like "screw it, i just wanna grind this thing". So thats what i tried to do. I didnt have enough speed but i still got onto the beginning part of the rail. My legs got wider and wider until i nutted the rail pretty hard. My momentum threw me forward and I caught myself with my mouth....on the rail. I chipped out 3 of my teeth. nerves were exposed from 2 of them and it hurt like hell. I had to go to the dentist for 2 hours on christmas eve to get the nerves covered up. I'll try posting a pic, but I don't really know how. Here it goes....

That probably didnt work. oh and keep in mind that i got my braces off like 3 months before that happend, so my teeth were very straight and flat.

mine seem lame compared to some of these but landed way too short on a table and there was a bit of a nuckle so i landed right on that kneed my self in the face and bit through my tounge and had some nasty bruises.

another time i landed way too back seet on a 3 and bruised both my shins

Slid off a rainbow box onto the side of my knee. Pretty much sums up to a bone contusion and internal bleeding on it.

mmm on two big kickers...hitiin th eknuckle and rippin open my face...you would think i would learn...

trying my first cork 7s, overshot the backcountry booter landing on complete flat last spring. compress-fractured my back in 3 places. I was in a brace for a while; don't remember exactly how much time. It sucked, I had the brace for a competition.

this one is when i was younger like 10 years old, skiing, jacket got stuck on chairlift, when i tried to get off it was still stuck, liftie wasnt paying attention, went around the wheel (at this point im almost upside down hanging) then he stops the lift when he notices me, jacket rips with the momentum, land on head/ neck, did something with the plates in my spine, i was a facking bobble head for a few days...

tremblant 3 years ago, go to to the flat box which is set up going upwards like the canoon box at x- games but not with the drop, not enough speed i treid hopping off, flaied the arms, planted the pole and my eyes and google went striahgt into but end of pole, broken goggle and black eye..

not more than a month ago, having problems wiht bindings (markers, who wouldve tohught..lol) go for a fat 180 over the table, binding randomly releases, i lands on the ski, binding snaps off like mr potatoe head, i try turning and putting my foot down, end up crossing legs and pulled the hell outta my groin..well that was fun only 45 minutes into the day..

theres a few for ye

haha the goggle one sounds like when my lil bro was going of this little box and got his pole stuck under the end of the box and fell straight on it and broke his goggles too.

i mad overshot a jump and like cleared the landing.... broke my arm and snapped my ski in half

not a good time

straightlined chimney sweep a few years ago...it was a late spring day, with High Camp open and he entire hot tub filled with the Sqyaw Valley A-crowd. Palisades has a big berschund opening up just above the traverse line below it and I decided to point it just to the left of smchitiots....MISTAKE!!!!

bounced an ice spot lost a ski and ripped my pcl/acl/mcl after tumbling a couple times at 60+mph

ruined my career...will never ski the same

nothing serious.

It was like 3 years ago and I was doing like a switch 5 or 7. I took off way to early and ended up on my back but the bad part was my ski landed right on my face.

About 2 years ago there was these three jumps in arow right after another the first one I did fine second one i over shot the landing by about 15 feet and ended up sitting on the back of my skis then i couldn't stop my self from going off of the last jump which was a big step down all in all i just went off of it laying on the back of my skis and landed on the knuckle on my sholder and dislocated it

those jumps that are placed one after another, with really dodgey spacing are fucked up, i hit a set of those last season, I was pretty lucky, just a bruise, but I've seen some crazy accidents on shit like that.

This was about 2 weeks ago today...

I was at Sundown for a ski trip and took a few warm up laps through the minipark to get warmed up. Then we head to the main park and my friend wants to hit the pipe first....mistake. I drop in fine, first hit i throw a 360 about 5 feet out, rotation and everything was solid, then came back down and clipped my downhill boot on the deck....pretty much flipped me over inverted and i fell backwards onto my shoulder....13 feet to flat. Got back up, tried to move my arm, then skied back down to the lift to get checked out. Ruined my day. Turns out I completely broke off the top part of my Humerus(sp?) and had to get 2 screws put in to hold me together. Now Im out for 8 weeks, cant drive, ski, play guitar or do anything.

But Shit Happens....

not really a bail but today i bashed the edge of my ski in when my back ski hit the start of a rail and it made a bubble in my base and took out my edge and some sidewall. worst thing ive done to a ski

not that bad but still shitty. i was skiing along out of bounds and theres this small coulior into a bowl and i straigtline the coulior and it being the end of the day i got lazy with things and i cought a edge and tumbled down this bowl good thing the snow was soft. i was a bit dazed so i got up fall down cause im dizzy from doing so many cartwheels so i hike up 50 feet grab my ski and looked around and my other one was nowere to be found look for 2 hours or so. so no more anthems for me :(

AhahhAHh that sucks. I like how the music is playing the whole time and doesn't stop for any other bails except yours. Epic.

this one time i 3d a jump but had way to much speed. i overshot to flat and got the wind completely knocked outta me and this guy was like "you ok?" and i was like "hhhhhhhhh yeah" in a really soft voice. i got back spasms and had to go to physical therapy like 4 times a week and they would send electric waves through my back to calm the muscles. then i had to strengthen my back. i also got a couple bruised bones in my hand, but that wasnt bad. the worst part was i broke my ski, so i had to walk all the way down the mountain with fuckin back spasms. the park was at the top of loon too. i couldnt walk for like 3 days after that. it sucked

this other time i was just skiing fast when i tripped over a chunk of invisible ice and i flew down the mountain landing on my collar bone. the whole bone was twisted out of shape and broke. now instead of the bone sticking out in front of me, i have it sticking up and i have this big lump on my shoulder.

yesterday i was bombing switch and for some dumb reason when i went to revert my edge caught and i fell and landed on my head and got a concussion. that wasnt bad though but today i felt really dizzy and woozy.
