Your Career Ideas?

So i have no freaking idea of something i would like to do with my life so i was thinking if you said what you wanted to do and why you want to do it i would get some ideas. thanks for any help and maybe we will actually get some good ideas down.
 
Yah i am clueless about that as well, but i am in first year of uni and enjoying it so much, even with the work, so it prooves you don't have to know what you want to do...right now i am just following my passions, skiing and photography, if those lead me to a career so be it, i would enjoy it very much, but i would also like to have a major to have as proof that i have a certain level of academic education
 
im in the same boat but about a year ago i went to an academic advisor and he gave me some suggestions to the programs that we're out there in the fields that i was interested in, I havent gone into anything yet because ive been working but it did help, maybe you could give that a shot?

i think im going to try teaching, move to BC cuz you dont need a masters, so i could teach in another 2.5 years... from there persue skiing and writing/music while i teach and live the dream... in all honesty i dont believe i have enough persistance for an actual "career" i think its gonna change a few times in my life
 
lookin at going for a M.arch after I finish my undergrad, and hopefully be a successful architect. i have some other areas somewhat related to architecture that I can explore if I so desire... or need.
 
As weird as it may sound coming from a high schooler, but I kinda want to become a HS teacher. Just so I can teach here in PC, and be able to shred. Money isn't that important as long as i'm schralping.

 
i want to be an industrial engineer for a major electronics company and then market my product to the company and for the company....
 
Architect

and city planner

if you like drawing and buildings and architecture...give it a chance. You dont ahve to be good at drawing either.

I love it and cannot imagine doing anything else. They dont get paid much usually and the work can sometimes suck, but its really awesome. City planning and urban design is really good too. I will do that as well with a double masters.
 
wanna design us some good urban spots in Atlanta, you know, near some ice rinks?? jhaahahahhahahah

im lookin at an art degree, or cinematography
 
i plan on pretty much the same thing but im only in 10th grade right now, maybe go for a degree in kinesiology and ski and bike here in BC and try to get good at takin pics
 
freshman in college right now, and i'm leaning either towards high school/middle school teaching, or possibly aviation management, because i've always loved planes and that whole industry, so it seems right. I might major in av. management, then go into air traffic controlling.

Or my dream goal is to graduate and head to europe to play soccer, at any level possible. Really, I just want to see how good I am. I know it's a long shot, but you never know, and i'm certain i'll never be satisfied with myself until i try.

OR i'm going to join the military through the OCS program. Hopefully to fly something. I'd be willing to fly helicopters for the army, but i'm considering trying for a navy flight slot.

so yea, i have no idea...
 
I'm curious, how did you get into the program? ROTC, OCS etc? I'm looking into this a lot and i'm trying to pick up whatever info i can, especially from people who are going in or already have
 
I did the NROTC route at the University of Utah, actually graduated from Westminster College, which is down the street. So the Navy paid for 4 years of 100-day Utah ski seasons and will soon be paying me to fly airplanes...not a bad gig.
 
well i plan on getting a lil job at a resort for discounts, passes, and what not, while operating a online store or sumtetin
 
yea i figured, one of my friends is in the NROTC program and he's been trying to convince me a bit that its a good idea. I'm not sure though, i think i might just go OCS, if i even decided to do it at all
 
Right now I work part time for a general contractor and go to school full time for "design drafting" Work is nice because when we have a state job I can make close to $30/hour but its alot of work and usually 10-14 hours a day 4 days a week. After I get me Associates for drafting I plan on transferring into some kind of civil engineering. If college isnt your thing construction and trades are a great field to get into.
