Your biggest expenditure

Skis, hands down. Spent almost $1k on everything this year.I really dont spend much, and Im proud of that. I could live comfortably on 10gs a year, no shit

And for what? Too pay it back for the next 15 years? Have bill collectors after your ass? Then become a high school english teacher and bitch about your kids?

buying a car you don't have the cash for is just stupid.

it is a depreciating asset, and if you buy it on a loan then it has an appreciating cost.

Almost 5k for the post trip preparation.. (bag, flight ticket, new camera, vaccinations, visas and so on.. )

About 10k for the life there for 8 month.. I visited 10 countries wich means a lot of transportations (bus boat, train, plane).

I did some pretty expensive things too during this trip, like climbing volcanoes, diving, rented some motorcycle and I did party quiet a lot too.

And I was alone, so I didn't have a buddy to pay half of the rooms in guesthouses when there wasn't any dorm.

So yeah, there you go: 15k.

But trust me, it was worth it ;) .

Well, right now its a "5 bedroom house" but there is another room thats not considered a bedroom. So 6 bedrooms +friends + rent = pay my monthly payments. Working out pretty good so far.

Who the fuck are you to give her shit? Are you so self righteous because you're in the navy and for some reason that makes you better than everybody else? Judging somebody like that is so uncalled for, everybody has a place and a role in the world. Hers will be just as valid as yours so settle down.

To add on to what I said earlier, I would be pissed if I signed up to clean toilets for 4 years to, or what ever it is they do on their boats...

So you can't really blame him.

1.2k on my macbook proooooooo.

2k on a 2003 toyota matrix in the very near future.

another 600 on an upgraded stereo system for said matrix.

i was going to say my car, which was 950 for a bitchin subaru but then i realized i dropped 1100ish on my camera setup. so yea that.

lmfao. Are you fucking serious? You have no idea what I'm doing over in South Korea so don't assume shit. Assuming just makes ass out of you and me.

And where I'll be at a year and a month from now is something you'll never have to experience. Does that make me better than you? Eh, not really. However, you will never fully understand.

I'm not on a ship and the only toilet I have ever cleaned was the one in my room.

+-2000 euro for an underwater camera + HID lamp + flash + mounting plates and arms(=2800$ ?)

Don't claim how high speed you will be in a year and a month, wait until you are that high speed guy, and then claim it. Or just shut up.

-Macbook at around $1200 back then

-Skis

-Food the last 6 months living by myself, my parents pay the rent since im doing high school away from home

-nikon D40, around $700 back then

i've saved up a lot of money, so hopefully i will get a car when im 18

oh, thats sick. i hear housing in utah is absurdly cheap. so many people tell me that they live in these massive 5 bedrooms and shit and the rent is like a quarter of what you would pay in VT.

agreed. i got off a little bit easier with college, ended up owing about 20,000 thanks to lots of scholarships, and i still owe about 9,000 on my subi, but i paid about 9,000 down on it when i bought it. getting paid is nice, but all the other bills that go along with being a real person are not fun.

bought mah vw jetta for like 3000 but the insurance for the year was almost more expensive than that which is god damn fucked. i bought the car so i could get to work so i can pay for the car to continue to take me to work. fuckin life eh?
and while im on the subject of life fuck tow truck drivers. fuckers actually go home and reheat leftover human souls in the microwave and eat them.

this for sure. he needs to get off his fuckin power trip like everyone in the army/navy/marines or whatever you join.

yeah, the $43,000 isn't as bad as it could be. I had to pay $17,000 in tuition my first and second years cause I was out of state. I paid for most everything by working 40 hours a week the rest of college. So far I have yet to use my degree for anything really except applying for grad school in an entirely unrelated field. Grad school would cause another $38,000 in loans. The cost of school is annoying but will be worth it when im 35 or so.
In regards to my car.... Yeah, I spent a lot of $$ on a car. But that car has also been the means of me being able to live the life I have wanted to for the last 3 years or so. I bought it cause my Golf kept breaking and was costing me an average of $300 a month after repairs. So I got the incredibly reliable car that I could take out on my archaeology sites, fit everything I own in, travel across the country with out hesitation and now be able to handle the occasional 10 foot snow storm. I love my car and now my payments are really low and I have no worries of it breaking down or not being able to handle the conditions I need it for.
Basically I was doing a lot of archaeology work and doing outside sales work for the local mountain, both of which required my own vehicle, both needing awd or 4wd to have the job. You kids will realize that sometimes $27,000 into a depreciating item is worth the cost when your work/lifestyle relies on it.

A masters in archaeology? Why don't you just put your money in a pile and burn it? If you pay off your loans your loans by the time your dead, without outside help, then I'll be surprised.
