holy shit. how did you do that first skate one. is that the HDR or whatever its called?

Not exactly... similar effect to HDR but it was done with a photoshop plugin called Topaz Adjust

do you have to use multiple exposures? i dont understand how everything can be exposed perfectly like that. lol

well... no to the multiple exposures but topaz adjust allows you to use a thing called "adaptive exposure" which allows you to even out the exposure of the image somewhat (try to go to far and it gets grainy and looks sloppy) but also the skate shots I'm using a shoe flash to balance the background and foreground exposures.
