balcar aq 1200 power pack channeled through a single balcar iris head.

I was putting all 1200w/s through the single head to tone down the background by two stops.

Looking back upon the shot I should have used a 30degree grid to prevent the spill onto the snow in front of the wallride. Oh well, live and learn.

It wouldn't be a smooth gradient, but a little easier than toting a box and grid.

yes you could but then light distribution is whack.

I will just throw a grid in the reflector next time. I am also going to try some lighting that I am confident has not been done in skiing before. It is not going to be easy or practical but will be worth it to try it a couple times without dismissing it.

im shooting with a canon rebel xt (i think thats the name in the us, in europe EOS 350d) with the standard kit lens (18-55mm) plus a 70-200mm f4 tele lens. i really like the 70-200mm, excellent quality!

does anyone know why the pics are that small, they should actually be 900 pixels wide, or why cant i enlarge them with a click on it? i put them in from my private ns gallery.
