Your Best Photography

I'm kind of an astrophotography nut so here's my latest work. Interestingly enough all that image takes is good software a DSLR a fast telephoto lens a tripod and TIME. that one image alone took over 20 hours of work.

It's a meh shot but it was all I was really able to get today. Anyone have any idea how I could have brought more attention to the background, specifically near the horizon line?

i cant tell if the dude on the right is a man child of a husband, or a really large child

13 year old step-son. He's about 5'1 and 130lbs or so. Wife is like 5'3"ish. He was slightly closer to the camera than her shooting fairly wide so he looks bigger.

Just got a PSA to people who are taking photos in precarious areas like cliffs or urbex. I'm only saying this because I nearly saw a girl die just to get a damn instagram shot. She's spinning around and whipping her hair and flashing model poses not more than a foot from the edge of a 200ft cliff. Since she's not tied into anything she's literally one heel slip away from death.

Keep the badass photography alive and well but if you can find some way to do it safely please do because it's not worth dying for. Bring rope, harness, gear, etc... A photo is not worth your family putting on a funeral for you. It's not worth them thinking you committed suicide. Life is what gives us everything that we live for, don't be so careless about it.

Less of a direct message to anyone, more of something I just needed to say.

That's what I'm talking about. People get inspired by that content, they trust themselves and their surroundings too much. Then one stroke of bad luck and it's all over. I'm not trying to be the fun police here, I'm just saying that I wish people would use safety gear because it's extremely selfish not to.

Could have pulled back just a touch more so that her left foot wasn't cut off. Seeing all of what she is standing on would have improved the shot.

Haven't posted on here in a long time but figured why not.

The first two are from Pittsburgh today (10/12/16)

The third is from my school, WVU

And the last one is just my dog, found it in a pile of files

Any critique and advice is wanted please cause I have no idea what I'm doing

So I took this photo as the passenger in a car and as you can see, I didn't have time to think about rolling the window down.

I was pissed cuz I loved the photo otherwise so I decided to test out my mediocre-at-best photoshop correctional skills. I did it all in Lightroom and was rather stoked with myself on the turnout. Although it's not perfect, it's better than I expected I'd do.
