alright, im 13. all the kids i know snowboard, cause its the 'cool thing to do'. my brother got me into skiing (ctripper). i remembered this time last year at mt snow, there was a kid my age who was sliding this small trapezoid. i went by him and just boosted a straight air off this small table. he was talking to his brother and they were like 'he sucks'. thats surely not cool, i admit the kids better than me and its cool to see him jib, but shouldnt we all support each other? if there are young kids who want to slide rails and the only thing people say are 'you suck' and shit, they wont want to ski at all. being young and having an older kid helping you out and saying you're doing good always gets you motivated. personally, i can only do straight airs and throw in a grab here or there. but this is also my 2nd serious skiing season.

sorry if this is meaningless, but to all you dumbasses who think you're better than anyone else, no one likes you. help motivate some young kids and get more people skiing. what do you all think about skiing?

 
i just remembered, there was this kid at okemo, probably 6 or 7, who was carying crazy speed through the pipe. he wouldnt get air or boost huge, but i guarantee you'll be hearing about this kid in 6 years. its young skiers like him who are the future of our sport.

 
i am 13 too. but i have to say that you suck!!! jk jk. ya im right with you. i dont like people who rag on little kids like us.

man the people at your hill bite. i remember when i was first starting the whole newschool thing there was 3 or 4 other kids who were into it too, and everyone was really supportive and gave tips and stuff and i progressed really quickly. and now more of these kids are coming up and it's my turn to be supportive and shit. i agree, telling people they suck sucks. be positive

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.
 
at the small mt snow park there arent many freestyle skiers, just snowboarders and downhill skiers who go through the park. i mostly go with my brother and he helps me out. i like to watch him and tell him if hes doing anything wrong, to help him out. i wish there were more people to ski with.

 
i wish i wasnt the only skier here and if i could change one thing,i wish i could of started skiing when i was like 2 instead of 13

yea i'm 14 and i made it to semis in the open and x qualifiers and i all herd was o that kid isn't good he's so young and just ragged on all of us little ones. we'll show them a thing or two in a year or so.

age diffence doesnt mean anything.... i treat little kids like i would anyone else..... no one gives me extra props or more respect because im older.... why should i give little kids respect? they tend to be crazyier anyways because they dont realize the damage that can be done when sompthing goes wrong.......

i dont get why everyone is thinks that all skiers should be nice to eachother because its the same sport and were trying to 'progress' it but who cares if its the same sports snowboards and almost everyother sport people will say u suck if u do

i started on snow at 12 skiboarding but didnt get serious til thsi year at 14... i suck but im learning.. hoping to be good one of these days..

 
there was a kid at CoC in my group thing that was 11 named Charlie Dubois. he was crazy. he was doing the kink rails and stuff and trying all kinds of stuff. when he is older, he will be super good.

But referring to yourselves and kids your age as 'little kids' doesn't help

I'm only 15, I was doing newschool when I was 13, but I tried damn hard to fit in with the older kids. I didn't fit in, I KNOW I didn't (i'm talking like the 17+ year olds) but these kids were better than I. They pushed me because they didn't like me (...?) and wanted to seee me get hurt or whatever. But for me, I just took it and motivated myself with it.

NOw, i'm still the same...younger...nes....s....then them, but they respect me now.

It's all about gaining the respect.

However, I still don't have any love for the kids that hate before they see. (your example)

Just try to put yourself higher. Don't say 'I suck' and/or 'i'm a little kid' or 'i'm only 13'

just do what you can do man, throw down , and you're fine.

ride for yourself, too.

the only reason that people should get mad at little kids is if they are getting in your way or something like that. everyone was out there when they were young trying to do this or that jump without doin n e tricks. i dont care if anybody is out there thats not that good but waits till its his go at the park and is trying to get good. what i erally hate is when people get in yoru way when yoru bouts to do a rail, jump ect and totally cut you off. and i also hate the racers.

 
my brother is 14... ya i think he is 14, and he is a crazy skier. i think age def. matters, cuz tom(my brother) is winning a lot of comps now and he still has lots of years to progess. he is up in hood this summer skiing with some pros and people, hopefully progressing more. i dunno if he will ever get sponsered but hell he is a good YOUNG skier.

thats gay that people rag on u for being little and just starting, that used to happen to my 11 year old brother, but he didnt listen to anythin like that and now he's probably one of the best jibbers at cannon (not to hard to accomplish), but anyways keep at it i didnt start jumpin till i was 14 so im sure youll be pretty good when your older

What ever happend to progressing on a big line? Are you guys clasifying who's good by just the tricks they're throwing? I don't know if you are all that way but skiing goes a lot deeper. One should try to be an all around accomplished skier. Also, In my eyes skiing is not about how good you are, it's about how much you enjoy it and how much it makes you appreaciate life and to hold a full happy live.

i'm 13 and i just started a year ago and my friends who are all snowboarders because there is no one my age who skied all made fun of me because i was terrible!... and i was but they were cool and all but they justjoked around and stuff but i don't suck anymore... i used to not be able to get a whole rail now i'm pullin 270 outs and i'm working on 270 ons but the point is i used the anger i got from them to become better... everyone at my mountain snowboards so i get props for just hitting rails cause most skiers like go off the side of the jump up to the rails which is really gay! so next time someone says u suck use it to your advantage

Of course we'd all look at a skiers whole accomplishments, but that's not possible. When you see a sick skier in the park or in the BC, what's the first thing you notice? Their skiing . That's why you noticed them in the first place.

It's the same concept as girls man. Sure, guys (most) don't want some chick without a brain. But either way, always, the first thing you notice about a girl is her looks. THEN you go on to figure out her personality.

If you could look right past a girl and see her personality, and you could walk down the road a choose girls by personality along with looks? that'd be dope. but you can't.

same with skiing, if you could go down a hillin 10 years and see a guy barely turning in a wedge, but then find out that he's ....say, Seth Morrison, but he's gotten in an accident in those ten years or something, you wouldn't pick on him. He's accomplished a ton, and you'd be happy that he's not giving up.

I know how you feel, when I was 13, I was just getting into newschool skiing, and I could only do straight airs. The kids from the freestyle team made fun of me and my friend, but then we learned rodeos, and this year we went back, and they were still throwing the same three sixty pencil spins. They didn't make fun of us after that, but they did ask if we wanted to join the team. Just ignore people if they are hating. It means they are insecure in their own ability, focus on getting better.

I love seeing little kids starting out just throwing themselves off kickers and wrecking themselves, then getting back up like nothing even happened - I wish I had that energy still.
