Is everyone on this site a 12 year old gangsta? or are there any unique people that want to have their own style? seems like everyone is following the same trend of skiing these days!!!

 
i've got mad uniqueness...just ask anyone who skis with me. i hate this gangsta shit with all these little kids forming crews and hating on each other. we're all skiers, no reason to be hating.

a lot of fake gangstas? you mean all fake gangstas, im sure are tough and have been in fights and shit but that doesnt qualify someone as being gangsta, its cool to be into hip hop and shit but to be gangsta in a society where its like $60 a pop just to go up to the resort is just bullshit

im not ganster and im not 12. im 15 and am ganster fo life. nah jj. i just like skiing in semi-baggy cloths and skiing to hip-hop but i am definatley not g-unit.

I listen to mostly classical and other rock, very little rap/hip-hop, and I like to just cruise around and have fun, I don't really care what people think of me. I usually wear a studded belt with some Burton tan pants and in these spring conditions, a sweatshirt, and neon green poles. I have no problem with people trying to be gangsta as long as they do it right. If its just some kid trying to be cool like Tanner, I'm not really into that. I agree with the topic creator though, all these kids with their ghetto (aka just plain dumb) spelling and grammar skills, and everyone putting everyone else down because they've got to boost their e-ego, are annoying.

 
I hate how people try to compy taners style i think its cool how his legs are alll wide and such, but it is so stupid how kids try and do that get you own style

What I dont like, is kids who go out and buy camo pants and twin tips and pretend there getto and do a 180 and then sit in the snow and try to act cool.

Westfall knows exactly what I'm talking about, every new edit or video clip I see on this site, I see a kid with baggy pants, a huge jacket with it unzipped, a earflap beanie, and they all ride and act like Tanner Hall, the way he skis is his own shit, I actually don't care about the 12 year old thing, I just don't want kids who are going to be the future of this sport giving freestyle skiers the image of white wiggers, everyone should have their own style and own way of acting, don't try to be who other people want you to be!!!

 
my views on skiing is you dont need fucken top of the line equipment to be a better skier. i got shitty ass equipment and i probably look like a dork on the hill with my helmet on and shit but i dont care cuz i rip it up

On the helmet issue, I think its ridiculous and ignorant not to wear one, especially just so you look cool. Earlier this year I broke my helmet and got a concussion, without one who knows what would have happened...

 
ii just don't wear one because i find it uncomfortable. I used to wear one and it just didn't feel right

i love my helmet i wear it all the time. i agree, you pretty much gotta wear a helmet, especially if you ride out in the trees and shit. ive taken enough branches to the head to appreciate it. as far as the gangsta thing goes, i wear huge pants because they are comfortable, i had smaller ones and the were annoying. But i definitely dont talk shit to other skiers or snowboarders, because only kids who suck do that.

 
I think most people on NS agree that Tanner Hall's got killer steeze. Therefore, I don't think it's very strange if people want to mimic his style (of skiing), because it obviously looks good. As for the baggy clothes and hip hop music, I've been listening to hip hop since before I ever put a pair of skis on my feet. I've been wearing baggy clothes since before I ever put a pair of skis on my feet. Naturally, I enjoy listening to hip hop when I ski, and I enjoy wearing baggy clothes, because I feel like a look good and it feels good with more space. I don't dis people for no reason, I don't start fights, and I listen to 80's music and rock as well, so I'm not as small-minded as I may seem. Peace.

most people do care and thats who I'm talking about, the whole park thing is all an image now, everyone has the same style and no one is trying to be different, I want to see someone in all that baggy clothing and shit drop into corbets in Jackson or rock chute in Mammoth and B-Line the whole thing, now that is different, thats taking the whole image of "gangsta park rat" and throwing it away

I wear baggy clothes, listen to hip hop and g-rap, and I need no explanation, cause that's what I like. I tried all the other shit. And cats with the real "gangsta" mentality don't talk about it, they be about it son. I wish I could say more but shit gotta cool off....ha.

why is everyone so into the baggy clothes part of what I said, I'm talking about skiing stance, the way they talk and shit, but I guess it doesn't really matter, followers will always be followers and will never have their own way or style of doing things, most of those kids have everything they want boughten for them by their parents and as soon as something new comes out they gotta buy that shit and show it off to be cool, ski how you want and do what you want, just remember that you will never get any respect if you don't do it your own way

Its like snowboarding, they do it to be cool not be themselves, they wanna be pros, little do they know it would be easier if you had an original style. and were actually creative. Slower is not more creative, small isn't either

i dont wear big shit cause im gangsta i wear it becuase if u were tight pants u can see very little movment ur body makes and it doesnt look good to be in the air all shakky or on a rail..on the helmet issue i wear a skate helmet with hat undernieth and its mad comfy

 
big pants are cumfy and puffy jackets are comfy too. I listen to everything and I ski for fun, if I feel like doing 360s, well I try to do it with style, thats all. Ski for yourself, not for others.

 
everyone has their own style of skiing we just have to accept it. even the ones that are dumb we just have to accept them but yeah i like to ski to anything doesnt really matter but some old school rap can be cool at times but then again metal is the answer but then agin i might be in the mood for some classical
