Olbermann and Matthews and the rest of that panel is so biased.

The danger with them is they dont proclaim to be liberal but obviously are so flaming liberal it is melting my TV.

at least at Fox Hannity and O Rieley tell you were they stand and that they are conservative so you know were they are coming from.

This link tells a bit of the story....

ahhhhhh has fox news brain washed you? ?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

there is no way MSNBC is liberal!

stop spreading lies!!!!!!!

/sarcasm

ok guys,,,,thanks i get the point its obvious,,,, but its jst funny that you hear sooo many people crying about Fox News but MSNBC is way worst in their biased, but torwards the other side.

idk about worse. just the opposite direction. most news is in one direction or the other

You've never heard someone whine about a liberal media bias?

Anyway, people like to hear what makes them happy. Since the media is all about $$$$, leaning one direction is more profitable than attempting to stay unbiased and risk losing both sides.

MSNBC is not liberal. Fox News is not conservative. Both of them are after the same thing: money. They "report" in a manner that sells to their target markets.

That said, the American news media sucks. Both "sides" should burn in hell for dumbing down our country to such a ridiculous, pathetic point. They've all gone full retard.

Yes, Olberman and Matthews are liberals, but it's their own respective shows, so they can be whatever they want. For reference, Colbert's shtick is to be whatever is controversial, and right now it's to be ultra conservative.

That said, you made this thread during the democrative national convention, so obviously that's their focus. Their primary focus is analyzing political technique, and if you watch their shows they TRY to get an objective viewpoint on different situations, though like when talking to anyone, political viewpoints will come out.

Now, you mentioned 2 of their most major broadcasts, but if you watch other ones like Verdict, they do get a far more objective report. Fox is more universally conservative through all their shows. O'reilly being their poster child.

Firstly, Chris Matthews isn't a liberal. He's an idiot.

Secondly, MSNBC is nowhere near as biased as Fox. Fox is an entirely conservative network. They have no shows which have any redeeming value whatsoever. It's all partisan trash. MSNBC has Countdown, which is unabashedly biased: Keith Olbermann is a liberal and there is no one denying that. He would not deny that he supports Obama. There are conservative shows, too, though; Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough (former republican congressman), for instance, who is actually to the right of McCain on many issues. Until halfway through the primaries when Race for the white house came on, Tucker Carlson had a show that led into Hardball. Pat Buchanan is a regular on hardball and race for the white house (which is fairly centrist in its coverage although it sometimes features a panel with more liberals than conservatives), and Pat Buchanan is more conservative than... ok name someone, and Pat is more conservative than they are. Just a couple of examples; they have a pool of Republican strategists and campaign surrogates to draw upon for panels. The new Rachel Maddow show will be on a similar track to Countdown in its leanings, but again no one's denying that, and MSNBC knows what audience it's catering to there: Countdown's share is growing and they want to capitalize on that by keeping those viewers around for another hour. Most importantly, there's no claim by anyone that Countdown is anything resembling "fair and balanced". It's punditry from a left-wing perspective. Also, Olbermann is actually an intelligent guy, who makes his arguments very articulately, whereas Hannity, Bill "We'll Do It Live" O'Reilly and Steve Doocey are... well, morons. Steve in particular needs to be hit in the face with something made of iron just for being such an utter tool. I mean look at the guy. You're telling me you don't want to hit him? ... But I digress.

Basically:

Fox: every show and talking head is far-right oriented, except Chris Wallace who stays to the right of center but attempts to maintain some semblance of respectability.

MSNBC: Has one (soon to be two) hardcore liberal show, which doesn't represent itself as being anything BUT liberal... and the rest of the network resembles Chris Wallace, but just to the left of center.

Of course, wingnuts will continue to whine about this amorphous, poorly-defined "liberal media bias" without being able to cite anything specific, as they always have.

Think yourself lucky that your media isnt censored, although i agree with slightly censoring media, the super censoring they do here is gay.

THEY ARE BOTH JUST AS FUCKING BIASED AS THE OTHER ONE, PEOPLE...

Saying one is more biased than the other one is saying that a RED Subaru STi is faster than a BLUE Subaru STi... its a retarded argument.

If you want something thats a little bit LESS biased, watch the Newshour with Jim Lehrer on PBS... they are only semi-privately run, and are FAR less biased towards anything than CNN, MSNBC, Foxnews, or any of those other networks.

They do have funding from corporatations, such as an agricultural conglomerate that I cannot remember the whole name of, but other than that, its all fair game...

SO. STOP WATCHING BULLSHIT NEWS NETWORKS, watch Newshour, or watch BBC News.. which is run by the British government, and doesnt give a flying fuck, one way or another, about whos the american president (as long as he doesnt totally suck)

UNTIL THEN. stop talking about Fox, and MSNBC.. they both suck big fat donkeynuts and are blatently biased in so many ways. STOP BITCHING ABOUT IT.

in the words of immortal technique:

We die in wars, we don't get the contracts to make money off 'em afterwards!

We don't get weapons contracts, nigga!

We don't get cheap labor for our companies, nigga!

We are cheap labor, nigga!

Turn off the news and read, nigga!

Read... read... read...

exactly the only place i can find a good story on what is happening between georgia and russia is in the new york times= good news paper

just because msnbc has shows of differnt political alignment doesnt mean they arent biased. they are biased for putting their liberal spin on stories.

This is why I read a newspaper. Real journalism, what a concept!

99.9% of news casters have an over inflated sense of self importance and they think I actually give a shit about their opinion or their feelings. If they didn't sit at a desk, stare at the teleprompter, and report the news to me...some other asshole would.

The misunderstanding is understandable. Nobody watches MSNBC, so how could people possibly know what the network's slant is like when their ratings can't draw flies compared to CNN or Fox?

...not that CNN or Fox are great shakes or anything. Fox has a tendency to look through tinted glass, and the execs at CNN are virtuosos at reporting non-newsworthy garbage.

OK without citing Countdown, give me an example of their liberal spin? I watch MSNBC every night, and Countdown is one of my highlight shows, but most the other shows on the network really do aim for an objective viewpoint. For example, Verdict by Dan Abrams, he has a ton of correspondents on his show often including Pat Buchanan (very very smart, but very conservative), Rachel Maddows (very liberal), a guy whose last name I forget named Brad (worked for the Bush administration) and a bunch of other liberal correspondents.

Now, when they debate issues because there are more liberal correspondents, they will argue the issue their direction but SO often Dan Abrams overrides their decisions for what I feel is a very middle-way 'verdict'.

Except Dan abrams was replaced by the liberal she man Rachal maddow or whatever her name is. so you can throw that out the window.

They are just getting worse and worse.

I'm not gonna say anything else but how Fox made a ridiculous deal out of Barack's middle name. That's straight childish and ignorant.

Anyone else like Danimals?

So extreme.

Okay, supposing Verdict is completely eliminated and not rescheduled, just because 2 shows are biased, doesn't make the whole channel so. There is a lot of very viable information to be received from the channel, where with Fox it seems like even their regular reporting has a spin on it. I watched an interview of theirs with Jimmy Carter when he was talking to Hamas and Israel, and they would ask questions like, "Do you think it's right for you to be talking to terrorists?"

What does that question have anything to do with peace talks!? Yes they've funded and supported terrorists, but they are the recognized leaders of Palestine. Whether they bullied their way in or not.
