You like hot sauce, want some for free? Help our business out-

NUMBER ONE gives me a raging hard gusta, mostly the cap but the bottle looks secure and not about to tip in my ever-quaking fridge door. i like my hot sauce coooooold

Thanks man but since its the title of a parody video and not a company we should be good, A preliminary search we just paid from came back clean so its out to govt...if we're wrong we're out 650 bucks and a few stephs back in the progress haha so lets hope it goes through.

Everyone has said it, but whatever, Number one, and if you can integrate a drop thingy it would be even sicker. Has the right design to stand out.

Love the look of #2, with a minimal logo/wrapper it would look sick! But as some other people have said, the opening is pretty big, i like to be able to drip/shake hot sauce out, not pour

Oh, I didn't mean for legal reasons. More so the fact that the name could easily get associated with that video.

Is there a significance to the name on your part? Only things I can turn up when searching Chicho is the urban dictionary definition of "A big-headed loud mouth that only talks shit but cant do shit" or that it is a variation of the name Chico, meaning boy in Spanish.

Just remember that those searchable items could always appear right next to your brand if someone is searching for more information about the brand online.

and I don't know if this has been considered or not in this thread but usually people don't put massive amounts of hot sauce on things like they would BBQ sauce or ranch dressing or something. So you don't need a huge hole to pour out of like all the bottles shown have. Think of Chiloula or Tappitio or Tabasco, all of them pretty small holes to pour of so you have a more controlled sauce pourage. I'm having trouble articulating what I mean but hopefully you have the general idea.

Please give us honest updates into this venture, hot sauce has got to be one of the most saturated food items to get into. I'm really interested if you can make something of it.

Honestly things are going well, its a ton or work and money but its all part of the fun, for example i have 3 grand cash on me right now i have to hand over tomorrow for business reasons. The market is saturated with hot sauves we know that, this is more of a condament, and out advertising/marketing/ and especially apperance will set us apart. We have some great gorillia marketing set up which I'm really looking forward too. Sauce is dank too. Its a cayeene based sauce so it has a note similar to that of franks or other cayenne pepper sauces but its much different. Honestly we are shooting for production in about 2 months. As i mentioned earlyer what we have going on tomorrow could make or break us, so well see what happens in 24 house. Its going to be success because neither me or my 2 partners can continue to work at a desk suit job much longer. Also i promissed every who replied a feee bottle- Fuck me right never thought so many people would respong, after shipping its gonna cost me close to a grand (turnover wise) to get all my NS'er the goods- whatever though its all part of business- our plan is to give away out first 1000 bottles any way.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but consider selling refills in cheaper containers (plastic). That way you still get the appeal of the bottle, while not wasting the overhead for returning customers.

definitely #1 but have like a plastic thing so it doesnt all shoot out when stupid kids like me just turn the bottle upside down when they only want a little

Bottle number 2 definitely caught my eye first but the fact is the corks going to turn into a hassle in terms of keeping the bottle clean and spillproof. Definitely go with bottle 1

thanks for the feedback guys ,we've been having some contractual problems in additional to the tons of other problems that come up anytime you are trying to start a business the past month or so just getting production rolling...

We are doing things the right way FDA approval, commercial kitchen, professional labeling, trademarking, LLC, business registration out of state (tax reasons obviously...i have a new found love for Delaware) the whole thing ...its not something were slapping together in the garage.

We should have it out to the food lab and back within the next few weeks which is a really big step.

Might be overly optimistic but we are shooting for full scale producing the middle of June barring no more problems and have our first 2000 bottles and 1000 vials filled and ready to go by the second week in July.

Just wanted to let people know they will be getting their free stuff sooner than later, and we didn't flake out!

Which bottle did you end up deciding on? I followed the thread in the beginning but didnt see what the final pick was...

Glad to hear you are still moving along with your company. Starting a company is tough and you sound like your in the right track! Sauce on!

It seems like its going to be number 1. We are also making the vials for samples to hand out at trade shows/markets/concerts/ski hills..etc

Just for logistic reasons, the cork doesn't seem to secure as well and the acidity of hot sauce on cork doesnt always work out well.

However, 2 is cheaper and what I really really had my heart set on for the past 4 years as this idea has developed.

We have to raise the price pt about .19-.49$ per bottle with number #1 but that's all part of business, and our margins are still smaller than we want. Price should range between 5.49-6.49$ a bottle if it all goes to plan. (more likely on the higher end of that spectrum 6.19 and up).

We are currently trying/in the process of getting some restaurant contracts where we will be selling bulk in gallon containers. We are still up in the air about selling them to the public so soon in that size.

We are basically 97% sure its number one-we just sent out some samples to a company that specializes in tamper proof seals, we are trying to figure out the best way to close/seal number one. Its been a bit of a challenge.

Haha we are about 2 and a half weeks out from ordering out first 2000 bottles (that means a shit ton of cash) so we better be 100% sure before that happens.

This is the type of business card we have gone with, so we are in the process of finding a company that will mass produce labels on similar material. We think its give it a nice feel. Better than some crappy white label with devils and flames all over it.

We are also looking for a company that makes stickers/di cuts in bulk...Id much rather get a contract with someone of NS who can handle making 1000's+ of stickers professionally and timely. So if anyone is interested shoot me a PM and we can talk. Still about a month or 2 down the line before we place a sticker order anyway, so there is time.

Thanks guys-

number two with number 1's cap. the on thing though is I would make the opening pretty small so you can get the perfect amount. It shouldnt be like a catsup bottle opening which they kind of look like, they should be smaller.

Number one is most logical. It also depends on the viscosity of the hot sauce itself. Stuff like Franks is always really thin which is convienient for mixing in with stuff but it also makes the hot sauce seem cheaper and you need a small area for dispensing. If its going to be thicker, bottle number two would be prime. If you still could change the cap, either using number one's cap or getting a new cork similar to Patron (could not be very cost efficient), that would be sick.

I think you should choose based on how well the bottle dispenses your product. If its spicy as shit, get a little dabber bottle, if its mild, let me drench food with it. I like the look of the first on though.

the first bottle just reminds me of a mexican or south-western food style, hence connected to hot sauce. I think that is the best choice if it is a darker hot sauce (similar to moes)

thanks man, the amount of setbacks weve had is out of this world, from having to reformulate ingrediants because of regulations, just last week having out trademark rejected, multiple suppliers backing out haha...its been a trip thats for sure, we found 2 great new suppliers and redsigned the entirr bottle backing, were struggling with getting the logo perfect so a kid on here is helping us...thats after we didnt like what we got from one professional graphic designer and an artist in grad school for it,  i think we hit our low and are trending upward again so things are looking good, i jumped the gun making this thread if we cheeped out itd be done but were doing it right, fda, registering an llc...etc never could of thought how much money and work itd be, as soon as its finished everyone will get their sauce you got my word haha, hopefully well have a picture or something up of it in a few weeks.....disrrgard the 1000 mistakes as i wrote this on the train comming home from work, thanks again for the help guys

Well... If the first three bottle options are still legitimate choices I pick the first with the bottle of a second haha. I just want some free hot souce. But Id for sure buy something that looked like that, most people don't buy hot souce that often so I can see it being somewhat profitable even at a higher price
