Im sure everyone is thinking this...

In the middle of every moggul run my mom and dad are like omg did she do a backflip??

Dad: I think she did honey wow thats amazing!

meanwhile im pulling my hair out...

IS ANYONE ELSE DOING THIS???!?!!?!?

That, but + my grandma.

Did she just cross her skis?
Are the moguls on the blue or black runs?
Imagine how much training it would take to learn to cross your skis mid-air!
How do you turn with poles in your hand?
How do their skis not get tangled up when they cross them?

yea that, but what really made me want to kick babies was every fucking time johnny mosely talked. holy crap he annoys the shit outa me.

my parents aren't saying dumb stuff, but the announcers yelling about "corked backflips" is pissing me off

yeah i was sitting in a room full of dumbasses watching qualifying. they where so impressed with the tricks, if only halfpipe was in the olympics then they would see something other than penciled out threes and sevens with a backflip thrown in

Ok plowsass, there is no need to say that every park skier is bad at just skiing in general. I don't know if it's that time of month or if you just wanna be a douchebag in general but shut the hell up. These are all opinions.

You show me an 11 year old that can bang out 800 feet of bumps and still stand, never the less throw a 3 off a tiny kicker, then continue another 150 feet of bumps in 27 seconds and your post will be legit.

dude the bumps are hard believe me i know, but the one thing that really just made me chuckle was when one of the girls threw a back full (kinda rodeo) and then johnny moseley adds in "wow, just really progressing the sport..." . Get megan gunning on that shit

I laugh at the ignorance of kid in this thread. Landing a jump and going into the middle section of moguls is the hardest shit.

lol you would be a mess on that course. the problem with that statement is you actaully have to get the jumps. and im pritty shore they have to do those tricks becuase if they did something you want to see they would not score.

Do you realize how fast these guys are going when they hit these jumps? There's a lot more to skiing than park, watch the Olympics and you might learn something.

So do you think Seth Morrison huge front flip off that cliff is kiddie stuff too? Or the linechaser contest that candid won amatuer compared to bobby brown at the xgames?

Mogul jumps are way gnarlier than any park jump, never mind the fact that you have to have the perfect speed, and the skill to land well enough to ski into moguls after. Completely different than park. I've done 9s and cork 7s in the park, and I don't plan on spinning a mogul jump any time soon. Waaaaaay harder. Besides, those guys can do way bigger tricks but when tricks are 25% of your score it just isn't a good choice to do a cork 10 when it increases your chances of landing bad or falling that much.

Ha, opposite in my house. No one said a word. Instead they sat there and stared in awe at the TV. and when I asked a question I got completely ignored cause they were so into the skiers. that pissed me off lol.

Its funny how people let not necessarily the ignorance of others, but just the lack of knowledge "grind their gears." Put yourself in their shoes. An upside down flip maneuver looks very scary and gnarly to non-skiers.

I'm always pretty impressed with their speed through moguls. Have you ever tried going that fast through a mogul field? It's pretty easy to get wobbly.

I mean the tricks aren't jaw dropping, but the overall level of skiing is pretty effin' high.

its not about the difficulty of the trick, its the atmosphere which makes it waaaaay more difficult. Seth Morrisons AK frontflips srent the same as a tiny park one. i can frontflip in park but no way in hell in AK.also i can 3 in park. but deffs not into moguls while maintaining that speed. also air is only 25% so why would ttry an insane trick that u dont need for a good score.

my dad and i talked about the womens today in the car, went something like

him: "that cork 7 wasnt very clean, i think tricks in the dew thing are better"

me: "......you watch the dew tour?"

i agree with this man. I would much rather have a really fun bump run than a park, and if theres a jump on the bumps i always skip it or straight air it so im still amazed with people doing backs and corks on any of those jumps

The Olympic Moguls were ill. Both men's and women's were incredible. Some of the women were going huge off the last jump and Chloe with her full twisting back totally laid out was sick. If your family members ask dumb questions, take a moment to educate them. Maybe one day your grandma will be talking to her friends at bingo and say, "My grandson has the sickest true tail 9 ever!"

The network screw ups are kind or irritating. I mean they have former Olympians and elite athletes now commentators all over the place and they still screw up. I saw a clip recapping the women's moguls. Hannah Kearney throws her iron cross back flip at the bottom and the announcer is calling it a smooth helicopter. I saw it live and the announcer didn't call it a helicopter, but someone got it wrong when they edited it for the clip. Like I said, it's kind of annoying that they wouldn't have run that by someone like Moseley, Bloom or Dawson who were hanging around and would have pointed out the error, but that's NBC for you.

The bumps were ill this year, so fun to watch. If you're hating on the bumps, then you're just some dumb ass 12 year old that doesn't really get it.

I bet there are countless park skiers better than you on "bumps". Most good park riders started off racing, moguls, or ripping up the rest of the mountain. Stop being part of the problem. Seal the gap, don't widen it.

really. Do you know how hard it is to go off a tiny straight up jump made of near solid ice and then land and then ski down huge icy bumps, do you ever watch their knees? do you know how strong their legs have to be to do that? All we do is go off pieces of metal and do spins off soft groomed jumps. Geez, have some respect

It's a safe bet that about 80% of the people on this site never leave the park, so would have no idea about the skills of bump running, or other aspects of the sport for that matter, including racing and big mountain/back country skiing.

Until you have mastery of any of these disciplins your comments offer nothing.

10/10 Couldn't have put it better my self. There is a difference between skiing down a groomed run into a park jump and doing a backflip to a groomed landing and coming out of bumps trying to control your speed and being launched off of a 3 foot kicker back into moguls.

I just wish they would call the tricks by legit names, like there calling flat 3's a damn egg roll, like wtf ?!
