sarry if the link dosent work copy paste...

i saw my friends kneecap once. he split his knee open on a rail at jay peak, it was like a little bloody mouth that would open and close when he bent his knee. the kneecap was like teeth.

oh yeah, ripping your skin open doesnt hurt at all, it actually tickles and is great fun. r u serious?

I didn't say it tickled and felt great, just that it wasn't all that painful. I thought i'd just bruised my knee really and after lying on the side of the trail and cursing for a minute or two, I told a passing ski patrol i was fine and didn't need a check up, and skiied down. I told my friends I'd sit out a run or two and meet them in an hour. It wasn't until I actually did feel a weird sensation that was a little ticklish going down the stairs to the bathroom that I realized something was wrong.

So wait a second.....He falls, breaks his knee....then just gets out of his bindings and smiles. wow.. just wow.

I think going into shock may have something to do with it, I've heard of guys with compound knee fractures saying it was the most painful experience they've ever had.

the guys in the sled didnt have any fracture just a tissue injury. With a wound in that location there is very little blood loss or pain and so shock is not likely.

yeah, there aren't a ton of nerve endings on the knees already, think about how hard they get hit every time you fall learning to walk, not to mention that you crawl around on them for a year at birth.

Oh yeah, if it's just a laceration it's probably wouldn't hurt as much. I've had cuts from biking where I've seen the bone and it just felt like a deep scrape. But if it's like compound fracture, there's a lot of pain coming along.
