Well, after reading some threads today about how no where would be anything without the states, and how powerful they are, i have to tell you this. On the cover of the Globe and Mail today, large print chinese symbols, saying, can you read this? if not, you better brush up so your not left behind. Why? because america wont be the most powerful country in the world. China, the fastest growing economy, soon to house the largest military. It is predicted, that even within our lifetime, China could become the most powerful country in the world. And how can you not believe it? they have more people than the whole rest of the world, every other thing in your house says made in china on the bottom, so, learn chinese :0

largest military? you forget size does not have to coincide with skill!

if china becomes the number on power (you generalize because in what context???) then that is good news. they depend hugely on the US and vice a versa.

^yeah, they have to much work to do to bring the entire country up to standards. There may be some very wealthy people. But the standard of living will likley remain very low for a long time.
