Yoga?

I just thought that i would share my thoughts and experiences with yoga for those is might apply to or are interested.
i know i will get some hate, and truth be told i probably would have done the same about a year ago. Recently i took up a training program called "P90x Plus" just because i wanted to get in good shape for soccer and ski season and prevent any kind of injuries. and through this program i was forced to do yoga. Initially i was very unimpressed but it grew on me after a few times. works on your core, balance, strength stuff, and as well is super chill and calms me right down.
now i actually do yoga following soccer and skiing (after hitting the park and bailing lots) when i am sore or stiff and it works wonders. i think i may even try doing before skiing this year to prevent any kind of stiffness or soreness.
not to mention girls always seem to take a greater interest when they find out i do yoga...

Yoga is so sick, i just barely took an intro course this semester and loved it. so good for the mind keeps it clear and you feel amazing after. I wanna do some before skiing as well, you will probably be less likely to fall because it puts you in such a solid mindstate.

my girlfriend made me go a few times when we started dating....It's a damn good workout. There were also like 4 football players from my college there too so to the guy who said real men don't do yoga isnt true. I hear lots of NFL teams practice yoga on the offseason...

Def. helps a lot for skiing because of the stretching and balance aspect.

yeah i deffinatly don't know many girls who wouldn't be stoked on a boyfriend thats into yoga. its real nice after skiing. and you can do it in nature without videos or classes which is excellent as well.

hansel, not bro you fucktard

and yoga is awesome.super relaxing. i haven't done it recently for lack of a mat and good instruction, but i would consider taking it up again if the opportunity presented itself, as it did the previous times i've done it.

yoga is awesome its really a great workout that targets a lot of places that are hard to normally work out and its really good for the mind too, relaxes you like crazy.

if you just go to pirate bay or one of those torrent sites, that's actually where i got the "P90x Plus" training program and it had yoga as part of it
glad to see im not the only one into it haha

I got a Wii Fit cause I wanted to try it out and the yoga is pretty awesome. It makes it even harder cause they rate you on your balance so you are really focusing on calming yourself and keeping up good balance and posture. Shit is legit.

yoga is the shit. Has anyone ever done hot yoga? They put a space heater in the room and it gets 100+ degrees in there, by far the most intense workout I've ever done. And you feel ridiculously good afterward.

love yoga. i hated it the first few times (part of my PT) but it really grew on me.however i always laugh in class...someone always farts

I have dryland every Wednesday and Saturday, and some of the stuff is yoga. It's super relaxing as well as being extremely beneficial in the long run.

yes! im so glad someone made a thread on this. if you look around there are a lot of places that practice yoga in a heated studio. i've been going for about 4 years off and on. seriously one of the most legit things you can do for your body and i wish i had the time to practice more steadily. works wonders on everything.

bikram SENNNNN! best shit ever. i've been slacking lately but i used to do a lotta yogaz. its good.

is it something that you should take a class for? or something i could just google and do myself.

if your in university most universities offer a yoga class for credit. i first got into it a few years back through this girl i was dating but really expanded my knowledge on the subject and turned it into a more everyday practice after taking the university class. it will get you a little knowledge on theory and the history of the practice, which really helped me get pretty stoked on it.

no i know they offer them. but to be honest im busy enough as it is, and ive always kinda felt weird in classes like that, so im wondering if it IS something that would be easy to do yourself.

Ya it would be pretty easy to do yourself. Get a tape or a DVD or something, all you really have to do is follow along and do the poses and listen to directions. The beauty of yoga is how simple and yet complex it is, while at the same time doing great things for your body.

yea man, the yoga thing i do is straight from P90x Plus

just look for the torrent and download the yoga part if you want to give it a try.

i do it on my own time when ever i can, like before exercise like skiing or soccer and after if i have time.

Tried yoga, I agree it calms you, but it could be because of my size... I just never enjoyed it. But, to each their own.
