Yet another "wich ski" JJ's vs. Bent Chetlers

So, Im looking for a powder ski that skis groomers as well as powder. And i like the jjs and chetler for there rocker camber rocker. Reason for just the two skis is because i can get them cheap. Im 5'9 and 134 lbs or something. dont really know, here in norway we use kilograms and centimeters...

(sorry for bad english, as you might have read im norwegian..)

+k for help.

Well if you want a small ski , 175 cm JJ is good. If you want some big ski the 183cm bent or 185cm JJ's. JJ's are 115 mm in the waist and the bent 123 mm i think, bent will be more playful and better in deep pow. JJ's are good everywhere i have them and i love them . Pm me for more question on the JJ!s

They are made in the same factory and ski very similar, I would get the JJ's because they are a bit more narrow underfoot and will be a tiny bit better all around the mountain. Both are awesome skis, you will enjoy either ski you decide on! The 175 might be long enough for you in the JJ's but if your still growing and are a very aggressive skier the 185 JJ or 183 Bent Chetler will work well. Good Luck!

Yeah im for sure getting either 183 or 185, cuz of the rocker makes em ski shorter...

so the jjs are good for just cruisin on groomers?

i have the JJ's 175 length and they work super great solid ski construction wise and super light if you plan on riding in the even the littlest bit i would go with the bchetlers the JJ's are to thin for that and could dent probley pretty easily but on the flip side one of my good ski friends bought the cheaters brand new and they broke on the 3rd day! atomic puts a metal cap on the tips and tails to protect with rocks tree and what not but his bent/ripped off part way also he has only had them for about 3 months and there are about 3 core shots aka they have very soft bases overall i would say you probley better to with JJ's better construction same ski as the chetlers sidewall underfoot safe softness same rocker just built a little shittier i hope you make the right choice good luck and happy skiing

i have jj's and absolutely love them. Carve well when im here in michigan and kill it in the pow when i get some. The jj's will be a little stiffer and better for charging while bentchetlers are more poppy and better for jibbing. Your choice, personally i love my jj's.

I've skied both and they are both awesome everywhere! They have virtually the same rocker/camber profile, but the bentchetlers are wider and have less side cut.

I find you need to ski the bentchetlers in quite a "playful" way, i.e you need to kind of "bounce" out of every turn on piste and hardpark and really work them, once you get used to the width and pop they are great fun!

while on the jjs you can afford to be more lazy on hard snow, just put the ski on edge and it carves away beautifully! But you lose the playful feel i guess....

It's up to you really! both are awesome! I suggest from my experience go with the jjs just because i like the way you can be lazy in getting your turns down on hard snow

in the pow/crushed snow/ windpack/anything there really is no difference between the two and they destroy everywhere!

with the graphics - the bentchetlers are awesome, the jjs are horrible - personal choice though!

hope that helps in some way :)

i have a pair of jj's and i love them. i know a kid that only skis backcountry and loves his jj's and one lives. he says there about the same. for the bent i heard jj's were better.

Anything but marker - apparently jjs and markers don't like each other - ie the heel piece gets pulled out easily... I believe it has something to do with the heel piece being quite thin...

I have atomic ffg 14s they work ok and seem pretty solid

I personally haven't had trouble with Markers on my JJs and I've skied ~50 days on them... Then again I have seen a couple threads with Marker pull outs. I think if you have a quality shop you'll be fine with Markers.
