Yet another mac question thread

i know there's a ton so im sorry.

so when i try to download just about anything i get the normal pop up window where it shows how much progress you download has made ect ect.

so i wait until it is fully downloaded and click on it and i get a jumbled mess of numbers and symbols. for example.........

i found that this problem mostly occurs when i try to watch vids on this site so any help is greatly appreciated.

that always happened to me when i tried to dl stuff that was only compatible with pc's. maybe you dont have the media player that the video is formatted to?

Ive gotten that when I download programs that or extensions that are only for pcs.. after you download it and try to open it does it take you to quick text and its just those symbols?

Since its a Mac, and they have NO problems...
You are either lying, or have stumbled upon some problem that NOTHING (not even a Mac) can fix.
Sorry, you could spend the rest of your life searching for the answer and never find it.

i can watch .wmv files. just get quicktime player and your good to go. for .avi files i use VLC.

it's most likely that you are downloading file extensions that aren't compatible for macs. .exe's etc...
