Please stop posting movie trailers in Ski Gabber. Those of you who do not know, Newschoolers.com actually has a forum dedicated to movie trailers. You can find this magical place by clicking on the "Interact" drop down, then you go to the "Forums" section of Newschoolers.com. After that you look for an area that is interestingly called MOVIE TRAILERS. You cannot miss it. If you post a thread in here about movie trailers... its going to end up in the Movie Trailers forum.

and by the way, this will eventually be moved to Site Discussion but since you guys like posting everything in Ski Gabber so much I figured I wanted to participate in the fun too
 
personally i think that forum is unneccessary. it only gets a new thread like once a week. i like the MT page that gets updated with every trailer, but no one checks that forum because it is often inactive and so people post in SG.
 
yeah the movie trailer forum is wack.... ski films are about skiing..... they should be in the ski gabber forum. then people can talk about the skiing that is in the ski movie trailers...

 
We'll lets open this to a nice discussion instead. I personally sort of agree. But its ridiculous the way it is right now so I'm just following orders and trying to keep things somewhat organized. I sort of think that the Movie Trailers forum is unnecessary as well. On the other hand, I ALWAYS HATED when there was like 30 threads in Ski Gabber about random flicks.

Thoughts?

 
i sort of agree with the 30 threadsa bout MT, but the trailers come out in the summer. so instead of arguing about surface and ninthward bullshit we could be arguign about how sick a movie is going to be.

i also think that the MT trailer page (under "resources") should have a link to every single snow trailer posted on NS (isn't BP doing this or something?). i don't really care about the description, but having ALL the trailers in on place is pretty much the point of MT forum (besides the clusterfuck issue).
 
I totally agree. I thought from the beggining that the movie trailers forum was a bad idea... maybe it is good to manintain it to have all the teaser nicely discussed in one area, but we should be free to post them and talk about them in the ski gabber forum also.
 
in case you guys don't remember, the options were:

1. no one can post any threads about their own movie

or

2. make a forum specifically for people to hype their own video projects.

don't you think #2 is preferable?
 
exactly. keep the movie trailers forum, soemtimes i get bored of reading, so i sit back and watch a good 10 trailers. its organized and fun. keep it
 
One of the stupidest campaigns newschoolers has wated their time with. If you are going to move it to ski trailer forum at least leave a copy in ski gabber. As long as mindless shit like debating whether tanner hall still smokes weed or 50 million reposts about dumb Jibberish the game questions wind up in ski gabber I will continue to start my ski trailer posts here. If there is ANYTHING I want to come to the SKI gabber and find, its new sick SKI trailers.
 
Uhhh wouldn't leaving a copy in SG completely defeat the purpose? I think so.

By the way, if you want to see sick ski trailers I don't think its THAT hard to check a different forum. I mean its not like ski trailers come out all year long, its basically a 2-3 month time frame when they all come out, so I guess just check the forum then?
 
I like to compromise, I tend to leave stuff up in SG and move it to it's proper category a day or two later. I moved 20 threads today, mostly to ski equipment and regionals for example. over 20 threads, 1/2 a page!
 
oh great now its in site discussion, now really no one is going to participate in this thread.
 
i will maintain that the movie trailers forum should never have been created. most of the threads in there originated in the ski gabber anyway.
 
Do we really care about people's opinions who don't visit the Site Discussion forum? I mean honestly. Doesn't anyone that gives 1% of a shit about NS always check that shit? I know I always have.
 
for sure i find myself in site discussion more and more lately. as for the movie trailers, its a tough call. something to work out for the future....

why the hell does everyone want all the trailers in ski gabber. Take a quick look at the movie trailers forum. Showing threads 1-40 out of what, 300? DO you really want to see 300 threads overrunning ski gabber? Its not hard to click movie trailers forums... not hard at all. Sit back, have an organized way of looking at tons of trailers, sounds like fun to me. i'd rather not go rummiging (spell) through 16 pages of ski gabber to find one trailer i saw once and liked, 300 threads is good enough, i dont need 12411412. stop bitching everyone, i think its a great idea to use the forum

Ya well i posted the trailers that were submitted correctly about a month ago under Resources > Movie Trailers, I Don't know about posting raw links down there, and I'd like to think i got most of the trailers you guys wanted to see up there.

MT forum is what it is, its got Movie Trailers in there, Logically if you wanted to see some trailers I'd go there.

you most likely use Internet Explorer, its because the page is built off a CSS Stylesheet. IE ignores this and slows down the page load time, and makes it look all scrambled when it finally does.

One of these days when i find time ill work on compatiblity issues
 
somewhat, id recomend checking if you have IE 6 or 7, its built with alot of issues that make web devlopers want to rip their hands off
 
I personally feel that we should be allowed to have trailers in the Ski Gabber. I was so angry last year when my QUICK! threads got tossed to the Movie Trailers forum to never been seen again.

Let NS decide what's worthwhile to keep in the Ski Gabber. If people are sick of a thread, the movie sucks, or its just plain off topic.. it will die on it's own. If the new 4bi9 movie spends a week at the top of the Ski Gabber, who cares? Obviously NS thinks it deserves to be there.

It's nearly impossible to keep threads near the top of the Ski Gabber unless there mad interest. I've tried and it never works. My threads always drop off once NS has had enough. The system will work itself out if you let it!

tell people if they bump their own movie trailers blatantly or excuseeivle they'll get banned
 
bumpage of the trailer threads appears to me, to mostly be the various crews and thier aliases e-stroking each other.
