They may not be terrible skis, but there is so much better out there. For example, anything not made of foam. Buy from a company that cares about skiing. Like Line, Armada, 4FRNT.

i have them, and i really like them, they get good flex fairly easily and i dont have anyh real complaints about them.

 
Yes, the 1080 is a good all around ski. They carve real nice and they have a good flex. The foam core is not really all that bad. I also ski the PR, TM, and STL... so I like a softer ski.

 
1080's are wicked. they're suoer light, stable and ride switch better than any ski out there.

what's the big deal about wood cores? their way heavier, too damp, and sluggish.

go tree skiing and appreciate the WOODS!

 
they are super light and durable, suck in deep but they are a park ski if you go out west once a year just go with something that will provide more float but also works at home, also they suck on big switch landings

i dont think there very durable because my friend lit his 1080's on fire and the broke.

I had both and prefered the 1080 over the Chronic. Yes, the Chronic is a more duable ski. But the flex and sidecut are totally different. The Chronic is a much stiffer and carves a much larger radius at comparable lengths.

 
well i love my Armadas,nylon top sheet for better durability, an improved AR Core, stronger edges, an additional layer of TTF increasing edge hold and stability, plus the new ABS Variable Slant Sidewalls that is vertical under the boot to increase strength over the edge where it's needed most and stronger edges
