K I'm 5'11", 178lbs and wondering if the 179 or 189 hellbents. Yes i know they are not measured tip to tail. Just some quick input if you ride hellbents and your height and opinion about the size you ride. word

depends what youre using them for, I'd say 179 all around won't dissapoint.

theyre so big and heavy getting them in 189 isnt worth slight benefit in terms of floatation.

6'2, 165 lbs.... I ride 189s

at your height you could go either way. Are you more into charging lines, or doing BC freestyle stuff?

I'm 5' 8" and 195. I got 189s, but I want a lot of ski. They are about 10" taller than I am.

If you are worried about it, get the 179. There is plenty of ski there, as they measure somewhere around a 185.

If you like big skis, go for the 189. you can handle them no problem if you are a strong skier, and you charge.

I have a hard time recommending 179s because I like big skis.

Oh and no matter what anyone says, remember that you will need to be basically center mounting them. mine are 1 cm behind center. That's how they are meant to be skied, really.

I'm 6'2 175 and I got 189s. Its a lot of ski, but when you mount them close to center it makes them feel a whole lot shorter. Also the rocker makes them feel short, so while they measure long the rocker makes up for it. You could definitely go with 189s.

6'4" 185.....189 hellbents

the rocker is huge on them. the hellbent rocker is like a drop axle on a big truck; there when needed, but up and away when not needed.

6' 3" 173 and I have the 189's. They are pretty long but not excessive. At my height they are probably about 2 or 3 centimeters above my head. At your height I could justify going either way.

Ya i'm leaning towards 179 and will definitely have center mounted. Not sure if the extra bulk is worth it.

At 178 lbs I really wouldn't be worried about being able to throw around the extra weight of the 189's. I weigh less than you (though I'm four inches taller) and I have no problem with the weight of the 189's at all. I am used to decently heavy skis though.

I am 5'4" 115lbs. and have the 189's and I couldn't imagine having them any shorter. they are a very friendly ski and for the size are not very heavy. I'd hate to see you get the wrong size.
