Yes, what the title speaks of is true I am back, but back with a message. and theres possible something we all may be able to to about it. first you must hear of the message Its something not most of you will really understand some of you will and some may even shit there testicles out their arse. well here it goes some may have heard of this machine already it was built in Switzerland i do believe and it will probialy disprove god exists, and there is also the slight chance it may create a mini black hole... but we shouldnt really worry about it... if you ask me I am worring the shit about this thing:

i don't fully understand the particle smasher and how exactly it can prove more dimensions. although it said smashing nuclei head on at almost the speed of light, i don't get what that does. anyways that sounds fucking crazy, and if it works would be insane. anyways, how does that disprove god? just curious on how you think that.

but you could say that god created that dimension/universe. i mean it will always be argued, and i don't believe in god for the record...

There has been a phenomena where they have seen subatomic particles flit around and jump from one spot in space to another, but not actually travel through that space to get there. They are not sure if that is actually what is happening, or it is do to the limitations of our technology.

This new particle smasher has the capabilities of detecting what is happening on the subatomic level, as well as recreating certain events and also for detecting particles that could potentially be smaller than Quarks. It's pretty interesting stuff.

wow how could you even have the smallest doubt in god? you should get eaten by a heard of baby platipuses for that.

ah i now understand it. that sounds really awesome, but i mean it seems like there is a good chance in it already, where else could they go? seems as though the particle smasher will pretty much verify what the scientists think. either way that is really interesting.

I don't think there will ever be a way to disprove the existence of God. just like there will never be any way to actually prove his existence either

these kind of threads reminds me of this:

They will also be able to do things like make new elements. They will be incredibly unstable, but it is possible. Should be really cool to see what kind of stuff they can make.

Isn't this like straight out of that Dan Brown book, not The Da Vinco Code, one of the others where the scientist dude has one deep in the ground and the capsule gets stolen and put in the vatican.

i wonder if they could bring dinosours back like in jerrassic park, that'd be cool... especially when that crazy one spits in newmans face and totally eats him to death.

True. What if our universe isjust a mini universe someone made?

Also if there is a god he would have powers not even understandable to humans. He would not be bound by time or space (thats the only way to make something, ie the universe, out of nothing, esp when time did not exist) and therefore cannot be proved or disproved.

or what if somebody did the same experiment and created the universe we are living in now? Would they be god? What if we're just a mini universe inside of a larger universe. And then that one's also mini. We could have like a bajillion universes inside of each other

Shiu compares the effect to a dark room where patterns of sound resonating off the walls can reveal the room’s shape.

isnt that like eco location for bats and dolphins and shit? yeah i have no idea what this topic is talking about. wow

What if we're all lego men and god and his buddies move us around?

please end this religious debate!

im hoping this is a clever ruse....?

but basically christianity is retarded,

but back on topic, this seemes really cool,
if theres like another universe, then do we exist there too?, like what if we dont think for ourselves, our thoughts are just echoes of someone elses thoughts from a differrent universe O_o

I read about the Cern accelerator, and essentially, they think that they could possibly open up mini worm holes by smashing the nuclei together, making it the first time machine. The wormholes would be on the order of the size of a proton, and could account for possible loss of mass in the reactions that have been measured, where the particles escaped and return to the beginning of the experiment.

that is crazy. that would be so awesome though, it would in a sense make religion believers and non-believers both right.

kind of like the endings of Men In Black

stuff like this makes you think so hard, you may never know the answer

psh, you atheists just make up whatever you want to

that was a really ignorant comment, but seriously

haha particle smasher... lolz. I like that name. Anyways, this summer at cern, they will be turning on the LHC. Using this, they plan to collide electrons/nuclei at extremely high velocities. These collisions will hopefully produce unknown particles such as dark matter and such.

So what if they fuck up and create a black hole and movie-style they can't get a hold of the President until it's too late and the hole keeps growing and growing until it consumes the entire universe?

These "mini black holes" you are talking about may very well already exist, the LHC will hopefully give insight into the composition of particles such as neutrinos and the Higgs Boson, which have been speculated to be mini black holes in themselves. Hopefully this will either aid or help to disprove the string theory, alot of physicists have put a ton of time into the String Theory as the next big step in physics law, but its still really up in the air still. If anyone wants to learn more about the String Theory you should check out a movie by NOVA called "A Beautiful Universe". It was my introduction, watched it with a friend in high school for a physics project, very fun and very insightful~

haha i love the part where they try to use string theory, doesn't work, so they simply add a few more dimensions to the equation...

if i was you, i wouldn't loose any sleep over the thought. nothing is going to happen, only a few particles getting into car accidents.

wanna blow your mind?

study the "theory of relativity"

shit will blow your mind, the "frame of reference" idea is crazy enough, and thats the easy stuff

i heard about that, arn't they trying to find gravity atoms or particles, to prove the theory of gravity, i think they call them gravitons, i watched it on a tv show.

I think this is the same thing my Physics teacher was telling us about last year. How they are trying to create time travel using atoms, but it takes an incredible load of energy to move like one atom.

This is pretty intresting though.

Exact same concept as Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. Catholic church freaking out because of what it would mean to religion as a whole and whatnot. Also, something kinda similar is Pullman's The Golden Compass. Except its called dust and its sorta like anti matter, and that book also caused some serious religion debates.

Angels and Demons, pretty sick book. A little far fetched but an interesting look at antimatter and this sort of thing. It also offers more light on how this could actually disprove god, although in a way it also proves that one person COULD create a universe.

I think this is awesome and should be tested. This will be a huge discovery if theory becomes reality. A move in science progresses our social aspect. There is so much to be gained from this experiment. Not only will this show us reality of theory, but can help us devellop a new age of space exploration by understanding how space acts.
