What does everyone think about making people yellow only when they make a donation? I have sort of retired from making anyone yellow (I think one person has yellow-afied in the last 3 months).. or maybe the people who are currently yellow stay yellow, and anyone that makes a donation is made yellow as well. But if they are jerks, they lose the yellowness.

I'm thinking out loud, but give me some feedback.

yea i didnt really like the yellow thing because alot of jerks could be yellow then, so if you took it away if they were jerks i suppose that would work.. but i wouldnt make it a new color thatll get all confusing and ill have to have like a color code to understand the online list

am i a jerk? if so, i would consider myself in good company, considering that steve martin himself was once 'the jerk'.

 
I think those who submit mad content should be yellow, or once they reach like 100 posts they shoudl turn yellow automatically (No work for Harvey), as for donating, I think the phrase 'Donating Member,' like mentoned in the other forum, in the profile would suffice. Its less of a way of paying for status and gives a person the same recognition, but seperates them from those who have been on the site and posted a long time.

yeah, it might be a good idea to make someone who has made a donation a different color. it shows there supportiveness of the site

i like the idea of having something in their profile like whoever said that. I think too many colours would be sorta confusing...and meaningless for colourblind people like me :-)

Taht's a really good idea.. under the person's name in the forum, instead of 'Ridiculous' and stuff like that, it could say 'Donater'... hmmmm....

I'm torn on this issue.... because in actuality the people who donate lots of $$$ deserve to be yellow because they're helping out the site... but then again it implies that you can buy your yellowness. I don't know about a different color... profile recognition would definitely be good. I guess the only thing I'm scared of is having a ton of yellow people, making me not as important anymore. :)

I dont care...a list of the people would be fine too. Just a list. Being different colors on the sidebar would be cool too...whatever......

 
or have a list of the top contributors so that contributing money can be a competition more and alot of people will send it in to be number one like in the sse lol

Thanks for all the feedback.. what I did:

- On the main news page there's a link to a list of donators.

- In the forum, donator's have a yellow rank of 'Donator'.

- In a donator's profile, it says 'Donating Member'

Hopefully this encourages others to donate as well! (hint hint).

So, where'd all the yellowness go? I think yellow is good for people who have done alot of good stuff on the site. Not donating and stuff like that, just good articles and stuff.

But its like the old boys club. Harvey even said, he doenst really even yellowfie anyone anymore. It might be cool if yo uare Yellow, but for everyone else, its just a hopeless dream... (sigh)
